Oh shit ! big news from honda..

Just got a reply from my freind JC...no not Jesus christ but some of you'll remember the LSD topic awhile back...im so excited so no shit about typing errors...here's a cut and paste...
Everything's going well. You haven't seen any posts from me...but maybe I should. I'm no longer with Honda. I don't know Tuan, as far as I know. It's probably an alias though...seems like he always has the inside scoop and therefore I'd believe that he works for Honda too. The only thing I didn't like about the 6MT CL was the blacked out headlights. (non reflector area is black)...personally I'd get the originals and put on it. I'm not certain, but I think the grille was changed slightly too...or maybe that was just the TL / TL-S. The shift feeling was pretty good on the 6MT and I think most of the linkage is directly from a Prelude. They also replaced the fake wood trim that looks...ahem...fake with nicer fake aluminum trim. The '03 Accord and the '04 TL will kick ass. Also, there were more than rumours that the Euro Accord would come over as an Acura model too.

later
JC

Aluminum trim ? YUCK !!!!!

If my 2002 6-Speed comes with that I’ll be getting the first WOOD trim kit offered for the car.

I would say YES, but I would only trade for the Parchment trim like I have now.
No melted bowling balls please.

I doubt it would fit anyway.
Hopefully they’re moving the E-Brake to the center console, which would change everything.
I will be kind of pissed if it is still on the floor.

Very "Intelligent" response, Doug!

But I gues Honda is learning from Nissan. I.E. The supposed 260hp Maxima and the 180hp Sentra. Both now with 5 less HP than they were originally claiming. There are a few more Nissan/Infiniti models which were detuned for production, would you mind naming those few? :p And while your add it, could you just point out a couple cars where Honda made a lot of hype about and then left it's customers dissapointed? If you ask me, Honda has always been surprising the customer when their new cars debut. Remember a few months ago when everybody thought the the RSX TypeS was gonna have an engine close to 200hp, but not exactly? Well surprise surprise, Honda came out with the 200HP after all. That car has only been known to please the press, not discourage them like the Nissan 240SX's did when they were out in the US.

Oh yeah, and another thing. Honda doesn't lie about their 0-60 times (i.e. Infiniti).

you mean black housings...as in not those black-outs usually seen on visually modded out mustangs (no performance enhancements, just visual; also known as "grits")?

If thats what they look like... then I'm not too crazy about them... I like the silver headlights. Nothing to sell ya car over

Now if they sell the Lancer evo VII or Skyline here that might be a different story.

The RSX has a titanium interior option. It looks sweet. Much better than fake wood IMO.

I am burned out on hearing about rumor, guesses, and continuous speculation about the 2002. For the love of all that's good and holy, I just want to know when the frigg'n 2002 is going to start hitting lots!!!
I don't care what magazine "confirms" it or who says what until I can walk into a dealership and start negotiating and chosing options.
Until someone has visual fact, specs, prices, or delivery dates, can folks just stop stringing us 2002 shoppers along?
Give us the facts or forget about it until the facts are available. I mean, all I want to is buy a 2002 CL-S. Why should it be such a pain in the arzzz to get a little factual
info?
I know I am not an avid poster here yet, but please can I get an amen from the balcony?
Thanks-
PNC

You should stake out their Torrance HQ looking for it. Until there's actually something out in the public, rumors are all we have to talk about.

let me be more clear>>>this guy was on the team that invented the honda accord coupe type R aka ACR he works/ed side by side with erik berkman who also developed the cl-S basically it was the production version of the ACR ..he sat in this car .he helped build this car...if he said it until i see otherwise it is GOSPLE ...and btw he told me the 6 mt was coming almost a year ago...

The fact is, none of us really know eachother. We're just a bunch of bytes on a server somewhere. We don't know your friend. Anything read on a message board has to be taken with a grain of salt. Until its sitting on a lot or at least has an order code in a dealer's book, it won't be real to most of us.
