Officially Carless for Now.....

No more Acura, Viper and now the Evo.

The car was absolutely demolished today, I'll get digital photos tomorrow.

A kid in his Grandparents Lexus was in the Left lane heading west, I'm in the right lane. As I'm driving he decides to step on the brakes and go from the left lane into the 7-Eleven. Well he went into me instead slamming into the left side of the rear door, obviously oblivious and not paying attention. That hit sent the car flying into an electrical line pole. The rear right door hit the pole knocking it down and started a small fire....the car ended up doing a 180.

I just hope they total it out.

As long as you're alright, cars can be replaced. Yeah, is the Acura lease up, too?

Had the same thing happen to me in my new (then) 2000 Silver Maxima SE Five Speed.

I walked away thanks to air bags, but know the feeling (oh shit - life flashing etc.)

2001 CLS - auto
2003 CLS - six speed

Good question, I don't think I would get another 03 Evo at this point....not sure when the 04s come out.

One of my buddy's thinks I should get an STi if it gets totalled.

Before the insurance guy comes to look at it, I feel like blowing the car up.

Thanks for the comments folks......

This kid had an expired license from Panama, going to school locally.

Beltfed,
Sorry to hear about this!

Was this the 7-11 on eastbound Vets Hwy (454) where it meets Northern State?

Talk about being out of the loop for a long time....last time I heard you were getting the Volvo S60R!

Was actually the 7-11 right on rt. 347 heading west (right next to Boulder Creek)..... the Northern State eventually comes up.

Yup, you haven't been around, the S60R is old school.

Naw, everyone makes mistakes. I certainly wouldn't want to be in the kid's position. If i ever cause an accident, I'll die a thousand deaths before i even get a chance to ask the other person if he/she's ok.

Just be glad you're ok. It was just a car. This is what insurance is for.

The Grandparent's have AllState insurance as do I....so hopefully it won't be an issue.

The only visual damage is on the left and right side, but the trunk actually opened a bit. At least 3 of the doors are jammed, the driver front took a little force to open.

So if this isn't an indicator of a fucked up frame, I don't know what is.

The rear axle I'm sure isn't in tip top shape either.

There was some water or what not leaking near the exhaust (wasn't fuel).....made a nice puddle.

Getting a car totalled these days is not easy, insurance companies are big pains in the ass about it. If they don't total it out, I'm definitely going to lose at least $10k on this car. The accident wasn't my fault and the other car had minimal damage, if I lose money on the Evo I'm going to explode.

I don't freak out over these accidents, huffed and puffed a bit.....but that's about it.

When they decide the car can be fixed, then we'll see what happens.

sorry about the car man. but glad to see you're still here to tell us all about it on the boards ...

with the damage you said I don't think they'll total out a brand new car. however they should give you money for losses the car will take at resale due to the accident.

Then they should just total the car out then, that's my point.

I am not losing 10 fucking grand, because of some dipshit who doesn't know how to drive and has no license on top of it.

Anyway, thanks again for the comments.

No license as in the kid has a learners permit and was riding with his grandparents? OR kid has nothing and was driving his g-parents car by himself?
