Zapata,

Last week I sent them an EM about what components I would need to connect my Sony Clie to my car, but to also be able to have an interface conector that would allow me to use it on all cars. A week later nothing. Shit I even called both of their numbers and one of them is not even connected anymore. The other no one picks up and it tells u in the end to plz leave a message and someone will get back to u between 7PM and 4AM!!!

But "oh Hazos " is right they are the BEST prices in town.

Yea I saw the movie with a friend of mine that DLed it from Kazaa. The funniest part, not in the movie, was wating it with a non-Greek and listing to the reverb of laughter. Cause in the movie they would say it in Greek and then the translation would appear at the bottom. So I would 1st gust out laughing and then my friend would it was funny and weird.

Here's an alternative suggestion:

Pick up an OTC Mindreader. OTC is one of the most respected names in automotive diagnostics.... The Mindreader is a stand-alone (handheld) automotive scan tool. It has pretty amazing features for its price/size, especially if you compare it to a professional scan tool.

You can view or record live data stream of each and every sensor/system in your car, as well as check for pending codes, which is a very nice feature. It's basically an early warning of a code that hasn't triggered the check engine light. And of course it allows you to check all normal codes and reset the engine light etc.....

I have had mine for about 3 years now and I would highly recommend it. You should be able to find it for about $400.

I bought this unit:
http://www.ghg.net/dharrison/obdscan.html

I found it to be cheaper than the one from OBD-2 (to get the universal interface for all vehicles, as well as the ability to read extended codes in GM vehicles).

For $30 more it interfaces with a Palm OS palm pilot. That's what I wanted it for (since I don't have a laptop). The PC and Palm versions are about the same, and they don't have the pretty graphical guages like the obd-2 one, just gives you the raw information, and the ability to make a real time plot. Personally, having a "tach" and other guages look kind of cool, but it's not really required.

I've used it a couple of times for diagnostics, and it works great. On the palm version, it would actually display the text for the code (not just the code #).

I found it quite affordable (since I own a GM and an Acura). The OBD-2 one would have be 2x the price for both vehicles. They ship quick too.

I just used the palpal checkout, and it was done. He did reply back quite quick to check if I needed an interface from the Palm to their interface though.

Bro ur still waiting. I sent out my EM about 3 days before u created this post. And, well, still I have yet to hear from them. I mean shit have u heard the message that they have for their voice mail. 1st off they have two numbers on their website, yet one of them is disconected. The other is nothing more than an answering machine that says, get this; "please leave a message and a phone number, u will recieve a response between 7PM and 4AM". WTF like I want this guy calling me at 4 in the morning. I think that it is a great product, but I am not going to purchase from them if I know that after I purchase it I will be left in the dark.

I bought mine from Auterra at www.auterraweb.com and it works perfect with my Sony Clie N760C. Basically you're paying for the cable/adaptor as they give you free lifetime software updates for all makes of vehicles. Since it is OBD-II, you can use it on any 1996 car or newer.

Hey M,

Yea I think that auterraweb is good. Although the price compared to OBD-II is really too high. Let me ask u this. Does auterraweb give u guages and bars to read from . And when a code it thrown by the computer does it just state the code or does it state the code and give a discription? If it does state a discription is it BS and ovbious like 'check the AC' if somehting is wrong with the AC? Or are the discriptions specific?

Now u said that urs works with ur Clie and that it can work on any car '96 or newer. So u have the universial interface right? Now how much did everthing cost u altogether?
