NSX Brake Project complete
It was not really that hard all I need was the tools for literally changing the pads and a 10 mm wrench for the bleeder valves, I paid 207 for BOTH front calipers and shipping was 10 bucks, all in all it worked out like a champion, I had AXXIS brakes pads from a while back that I bought but never put on the car. The model of the brake pads are as follows "AXXIS ULT Ceramic (Ultra-high performance for road and track).
I would have bled the brakes tonight but I'm honestly tired from work and working on the car so im taking tomorrow off and I will have pics up tonight when my damn battery on my digital camera recharges, I guess I left it on by accident. total work by myself took about 2 hours but that was due to stuck bolts and trying not to round them off.
Can't wait to break in my brake pads tomorrow because apparently I need to find some road long enough to do it, I have to get to 40 mph and apply light to moderate pressure to the brake until I slow to 10 mph and do that about at least 10 times while allowing a quarter mile of between cycles, sounds fun
But will post pics of them on the car, if you can change brake pads, you can do this yourself, no DIY is technically needed except for bleeding the brakes, and I'll be doing that tomorrow with a friends help

the NSX ones are direct bolt on the right way, 36mm lead piston and a 38mm trail piston, its personal preference though, my 200 bucks was well spent IMO

you are probably thinking of these which are overpriced IMO just for some powder coating.

AC delco ones, but they also come with a mounting bracket for the NSX rotor which is not needed, just take off your old caliper (make sure you loosen the brake line first, I totally forgot to do that because for some reason i thought i was just changing pads) remove the bracket that comes with the NSX caliper and install the NSX caliper to the CL's caliper mount, it is very straight forward.

I actually thought about doing that and sanding the NSX emblem so that is is polished that would stand out IMO, but I just needed to get them done so I can help my partner go to his autocross meet this weekend.

Very nice. I saw a steal of a deal on some 09 MDX calipers - and those are also dual piston in the front - the strongest braking system ever offered by Honda according to the PR stuff. The rotors for these things are 13.3 in diameter though - so not sure about clearance on stock rims. Eyeballing them they look like they would bolt right up...and the calipers are only $190 shipped for fronts and rears...

RockAuto is da bomb..I get EVERYTHING from there..I have some 5% coupons..if anyone is interested...
Now that you have those calipers do u have to buy pads for the NSX?
How is the performance with these calipers?

There was lengthy discussion about this a while back when I was looking at the upgrade and the vast majority of opinions is that there is little to no benefit from this upgrade. Purely cosmetic.

actually that is not entirely correct, a dual piston caliper will have a larger surface area on the pad which will in turn distribute the force as well as the heat from the brake pad more evenly in turn decreasing brake rotor temperatures as well as reducing fade, less heat = less chance of a warped rotor, why do you think the CL's have such a problem with warping rotors, a heavy car with a single piston is the stupidest thing i ever heard, we should have had dual pistons from the get go.
