Very nice video, I love the sound of the turbo!

btw, I don't think the RSX did that bad, considering it's a 4 cyclinder vs a straight 6.

nice cars.....only funny thing about the video is that the chase car seemed like it easily kept up with both the IS300 and RSX.

they were neck and neck.....obvisiouly from a standstill the IS300 w/ rwd would hold the advantage but the RSX holds and advantage w/ weight. Would be good to know how much boost each car was running.

would also like to know what car was filming this

very interesting race...4 v. 6 cyl...good stuff...RSX hung in there pretty good...maybe it's just me, but i don't think the IS driver was a good shifter, cuz it looks like the RSX regains the ground it was losing when the IS was shifting, but after the IS shifted, it regained some ground

It is because I read it over at rsx.com

Also, the rsx is pushing @ 300 hp to the wheels and the IS is pushing @ 400 hp to the wheels.

no offense, but if that IS300 is putting 400rwhp and the RSX is only at 300fwhp, thats some major power to weight in affect, it looked like the IS only pulled maybe a car length....anyways, i'd love to see Titan run one of those guys too, but unfortuately i think he'd lose....but it'd be fun at least

Whats up everyone, I just wanted to drop in and answer some of your questions regarding this video.

It was me driving and filming at the same time. The car I was in, which was following, is a turbo IS300 6spd. The cars that were running were a Turbo RSX-S w/ about 300fwhp, the Black IS300 is turbo running 400rwhp on 15psi of boost w/ 93 octane. The reason that the IS300 wasn't power shifting is because he still has his stock 5spd, and the stock 5spd is only good for about 320rwhp before it will break, so the driver is being jinger w/ his shifting because he doesn't want it to break. I know cause I have busted my 3rd gear in my 5spd at 525rwhp and it locked up my entire tranny, so I went out and bought a Supra 6spd, but thats a whole diff story.

I don't know for sure how much the RSX spent on his kit, but the Black Turbo IS300 owner spent about 15K on his setup. Now mine is a different story, I have spent about 35K on my engine/tranny alone, which is fully built and is basically a 4 door supra.

BTW you guys have a great forum here....

Thank you man, I appreiate that...

The car handles great, this is my daily driver so I get to use it everyday, which is heaven to me. Getting the power to the ground is tough, if I were to just drop the hammer I would be spinning tires in 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th, havn't tried 5th yet but I am sure I could get a little spin out of em.. I am working on swapping out the rear end for a supra rear end, when that happens hopefully that will help w/ me hooking up, but I basically need to have a lot of throttle control or I will destroy my tires very quickly, thank God I have a BFGoodrich Tire sponsorship...

It does handle very well. We we met at Deal's Gap last month. His car is a monster. We drove maybe 4 hours in twisties BEFORE we actually got to the dragon!

You should see him pass a car on the one-lane roads, it is awesome. Helluva blow-off valve too.

Hey everyone, that's my Black Turbo IS300. Thanks for all the good remarks. That is my buddy Brian in the RSX-S Turbo. My buddy Randy is the filmer driver in a boosed IS300. It was no stretch at all, it always goos when me and Brian race. BTW, he was on 10lbs. @290whp and I was at 1 bar (14.5) at 400whp. As you can see weight to HP ratio is everything. Whoever posted about the shifting is correct. I have stock clutch and tranny, so I don't power shift, Brian does. I have a Stage 2 from Toyomoto, and Brian has a Stage 1 from Cybernation here in South Florida. Both base kits cost around the same price. Nice forum, come check us out on IS300.net. Or you can see more on me at www.jerryascione.com
Thanks,
Jerry

Thanks, I appreciate the compliments. I really try to set my car apart from others. Brian and I have bigger plans for our cars. Brian's moving to a Stage 2 soon, and me....let's just drop a couple clues...6 Speed swap...JE Pistons...Pautter Rods....Direct Port....3.3 Stroker Kit?!?!?!?!? LOL One day.
