Pulled up next to a guy in an auto C5 Vette last night. Of course I wanted to run just to see how I'd do. I looked over and he smiled, so i got ready to run. The light turned green and we both went fairly smoothly off the line...just as i got to the end of 1st, it was neck and neck...then he QUIT!!! I dont know if he was embarrassed it was close or if he just didnt want to race. Oh well.

 

maybe he has a V1 and it went crazy... maybe he said why to bother.. do not mess with any Corvette...

i can't speak for your area prelude9925 but i find most Vette owners won't race on the streets. I'm not sure if its that they think their untouchable and we're not worth the time, maybe it would have been different if you were driving a porsche.
i know my old mans vette is pushing over 500 horsepower and he refuses to race people. he feels its just unsafe.

 

He wasnt racing. My friend has a C5 and that car will embarass alot of people

 

I agree, the C5's around my area don't mess around either.. that is unless you have a Supra Turbo like my friend , we find that the domestic guys wants a piece of his car all the time..

 

C5's are bad news man, don't mess with em...those 2 cylinders and extra 90-145 HP (standard 345-350 dep on year, Z06 385-405 depending on year) will make our cars look like toys. I would love a Supra run vs. a stock 405 HP Z06 though....

 

on my way to court(for a traffic violation) i tried to get this z06 to bite but she just wouldnt wanna go, i couldnt believe a girl was drivin it, but i guess i shouldnt be racing near the popo stations

 

I am not that familier with vettes. Isn't the c5 the lowest end model? When I was at the track I saw people putting down 14's or high 13s in there vettes. I do know the z06 is one bad ass ride! How can you tell if it is a vette we can run with?

 

if it is a hatchback or convertible onlt zo6 come in a coupe they have split 5 spoke 18's instead of 5 spoke 17's and they have a brake cooling vent behind both doors. Z06 run high 12's stock

C5 means 5th generation corvette, And we can't run with any of them unless you got some serious work done.

Yeah but not us losers with Auto's and no turbo I would love to do that but the tranny would cry like a little biatch.
