First Kill... upscale 4dr rice... Acura TL Type S
Okay so I'm traveling 70 m.p.h. on some highway in some state on a gorgeous spring day, when in my rear view mirror I see a green acura closing ground. So I move over 1 lane to the right to let him pass and think nothing more of it. Well about the time he should have already passed me I look over to see where this car is? Now the car is traveling at a very slow rate. The guy finally pulls up besides my window. So I look over at the driver to see what his intentions are. Well he's just staring straight ahead, nothing to suggest he wanted to race. He then proceeds to pass me and pulls 1 1/2 car lengths ahead of me when he suddenly floors it.

So the sneaky little bastard gets a good jump on me while I'm momentarily dazed/confused/shocked/pissed about this unfair, but relatively short lived upper hand he had just dishonorably acquired. Funny thing is, that while all these negative emotions we're running through my head 100,000-year-old-cavemanlike fight or flight instincts buried deep within my psyce had already taken over. Without instruction prehistoric synapses within fired electochemical instructions ordering the muscles in my right leg to bury the GO-Pedal into the floorboard. I start catching up, not as fast as I would have liked but reeling him in nonetheless. In fact I'm reeling him in like a helpless exhausted bass who knows he's destined to be scaled, gutted and fryed on a skillet. I hear his car shift into 3rd and mine shortly there after. This is where the LS1 shines. I passed him rather convincingly. As I pulled back even to his front door at 110-120+ I looked over at the driver to see his expression. Well even though he was losing he still looked over at me with a shit eating grin. I decided to give him the thumbs up, even though he didn't race me straight up. He was just a yuppie looking for a little fun and I didn't want to come off as a domestic V8 snob. (btw, is it possible to be a snob when your driving a antiquated pushrod engine?? )

That would have been the end of the story till 5 seconds later when I blow buy a cop who had already pulled over another car for speeding. He looks up at our two cars as we go flying by WOT traveling at 130 +/-. He just stood there, clipboard in hand and looked up with an expression I'll never forget. The cop knew there was nothing he could do but watch us go by. The expression on the officers face was simply priceless.

What had been just a a mediocre kill turned into a memorable and lasting image of this cops incredilous expression.

What a worthless story. Let me sum up this guys tale for people that don't like a lot of words.

I saw a car behind me...
He passed me and floored it...
I floored it and caught him...
I gave him the thumbs up...
We passed a cop...
The cop had a funny look on his face which I could see clearly traveling 130mph...
I bent over and we had some fun.

Ok I made that last part up, but it fits.

GHEY STORY!!!

I buzzed a cop at about 135 once. He was parked facing traffic set up in a speed trap and didn't even bother pulling out. At that speed, I barely noticed him there before I was long gone. The fact that this guy built his whole story around the cop's facial expression leads me to believe he was BSing.

What a dumbass.

Little does he know that the cop probably got both the plate #'s, and both people have tickets in the mail.

Descriptive ass mofo, you know he took like 32 english classes in high school.

Seriously guys, I've never been @130mph, but if I was, God knows I would NOT be giving a damn about remembering the expression on a cops face, I'd be way too worried about crashing my shit into a wall or better yet an innocent Gay Falker going 55mph in the fast lane...

But Whatever

The 5.7 Liter (346 ci) V-8 found on 97+ Corvettes and 98+ F-Bodies (Camaro/Firebird)

In the F-Body application, they dyno abywhere from 290-295(early models) to 310-320 (later models), Bone Stock.

Pretty much the Gold Standard of Domestic Performance at the moment.

Not according to this:

The majority of C5 and C6 Vette owners have an arrogance which is unbelievable. Not all, but most. I apologize if this link was posted before.

just like most forums, whenever you get a group of people to dig one car, they generally tend to big the car up... even though i feel corvette/f-body cats do it a hell of a lot more than anybody else... but whatever thats my opinion

I can understand supporting your own car, like all the CL owners on this board, but the Vette owners' false sense of superiority is incredible. They basically ignored the fact the guy in the turbo Civic beat the C6 in 2 out of 3 races. Then come the typical responses - "At the end of the day, you're still driving a Civic."

Yeah, and he also took $100 from a stupid, ish-talking Vette owner. The Civic guy actually lost a lot of sucker money by running the C6. Now half the Internet knows what he runs.

Sorry, but I have read that thread and I don not dispute that there are plenty of modded Civics, Integra, hell even some CLs that will dust the "almighty" LS1 (stock).

I meant that statement somewhat in jest and didn't mean they were always the baddest on the block, just that the LS1 is a commonly used benchmark performance-wise.

Z06, my bad. The LS6 Chevelle was badass. I'm a Chevy man to the bone, but I just can't stand the Corvette.

I don't wanna make fun of the TL but there's no way a TL(even type S) can kill a vette(come on it has 2 more cylinders and it's lighter) (I know you guys say you kill Mustang GTs but a LT1(those things can be pretty mean). Then on top of it to pass a cop doing 130-135 and NOT BE IN JAIL I know around here if you we're doing 130-135 you'd be in front of a judge by now

The LS6 is the motor in the Z06 same engine as the LS1 with upgraded heads and more aggressive cam.

You are certainly correct that the LS6 Chevelle was badass!!!

(Please note that I am not trying to be a neatnik or anything, just spreading a little domestic knowlegde to my Acura peeps)

This isn't a knock against anyone, but unfortunately most of the younger import kids have no clue about the glory days of American muscle cars and worse yet no clue about the workings of an internal combustion engine. You can never learn too much about cars, so teach on Pull T.
