NOS vs. SC (Which one... or none)
So, my car will hopefully be done by next week and not that I am going to do anything crucial to it, but ive been looking into NOS and Im just trying to get some feedback on it. Is it on the safe side meaning as long as you dont abuse it your car will hold up? And, the infamous SC, for 4 grand, having a totally different car i guess u have to pay a price. But, which route would be best? How much does NOS cost altogether and what do you have to do to your car? I was planning on upgrading the sound system a little later down the line and would either SC or NOS have an effect?

SC FTW
NOS sucks b/c you need to prep your car to run like with it and most of the time you don't so you end up sacrifing a lot running colder plugs and all that jazz.
Since when does NOS give you that whining sound? end of discussion
I was selling my kit for 2K until I decided to just keep it and enjoy my ride even more You might even get away with saying that your car will feel like it has an LS2, maybe with the HBP and Hope aftercooler.
NOS also tends to give me the impression that its more harmful long term then supercharging. Guess it depends on the dynamic compression vetween the two.

Depending on how much you use it, nitrous could be more expensive in the long run. Once the SC is in, all you need is gas. You will have to continue to buy nitrous if you want to use it.
Nitrous may be a good way to go for a car you run at the drag strip a couple of times a year, SC is good for the daily driver.

Agree. I'd never use NOS for a daily car. That's only worth it for racing. A SC will have power in every situation.
And NOS if installed correctly is perfectly safe. You hear all the bad stuff from people that do not have it installed right.
And it seems a 75-100 shot is safe for our engines.

THE J35A2...
dunno if this help, but i have beaten a Cobra and played a Camaro SS on separate location, twice on same night. I don't think i can do that without refilling NOS on a bottle...

nitrous wet system is cheaper. nitrous leaves you with more money to play with your ride.
aftermarket fuel pump, rails, injectors, intake, reinforced seals, lines, spark plugs, aftermarket ignition coils, etc. and probably still have money for 93 octane. Get some pros to install it, tune it up and you should have a helluva time with nitrous.
nitrous has been around when they used it on warplanes in ww2 its not a new concept. Its use has been harnessed to a safe degree by engineers. nitrous is chemical and s/c is more mechanical. Dense, lower temp air combustion vs. tradition compressed oxygen through a blower and belts combustion.
But..you have to understand nitrous is addictive, wears out your engine/tranny, eats up gas, hated by most because they think its cheating, dangerous because of the driver, blown head gaskets because the driver shoots their car up with too much (1/2 of a car's bhp is pretty safe). dont underestimate nitrous, its like adding coke to vinegar inside of a bottle and shaking it up instead the bottle is your cylinders. if done right, with right complimenting mods, gauges that shows fuel pressure + temp, a/f ratio..it should be cool
been fascinated in the import racing scene since I was 9 yrs old, doesnt help to have a close friend who's brother owns a popular shop in austin, tx..
been in alot of races with cars without nos and it just hurts to see black smoke just come out of the other guy's exhaust and see him pull away into the horizon. I've been in cars, especially with vtec, equipped with nitrous, and damn, its something else man. it aint like a turbo or supercharger or meatloaf. fast and the furious hyped it up too much, its non-flammable when its in the tank, and you'll know why its called laughing gas cause it makes you laugh when your pressing the gas and beating another car.
i dont have nos because i have a daily driver in dallas tx traffic 01 cls. mainly because of no mods, auto tranny, no twin cam - stay away from nos but if i had a 350z or integra, i wouldnt even be replying would i?
stay cool.

Exactly, that's how I feel completely. Yes modding a car is a waste of money, but the gratification that you get from it makes it very worth it. It makes your car different than every other CL, etc.
And for the price of a used SC kit, make your car sound like a friggin' airplane.
Here is a video of a SC CL-6:

its for the Accords but ive had plenty experience comparing parts of each kit and ordering them and installing them. I have the parts lists of all three kits not including the 04+ TL kit.
I'll probably sell it for a little more then 2K, depending on the cost of the items needed to convert the kit to CLS 6spd kit, which mostly comes from having to buy a J32 inlet elbow which from Comptech costs over $200.

during the West coast meet a few years back I raced and beat all 4 S/C'd cars and never ran out. We were driving and playing around all afternoon.
