NOS Vs. Headers

I have had my 01 S for about a year and I only have a K&N.

15.3 @ 93.3 MPH

I'm thinking of a mod or two but don't want to go all out.

Any suggestions as far as what my first step should be?

What type of gains can I expect?

By your title, I am assuming that you're interested in getting either NOS or headers to reduce your 1/4 mile time? IMO, headers are the way to go. No need refill when you run out. More reliable and less potential damage to engine. Should be able to reduce your time by .2-.3 sec.

With a 75 shot NOS you can take off 1 second of 1/4 mile times easily, but the bottle only lasts 2 minutes, and every refill is about 35-40 bucks. With headers you get the power constantly, but a lot less than NOS, and that power can be felt only wneh VTEC kicks in....

that sounds so dismal. by your calculations, he would be running 15 flat in a CLS with headers... thats :greddy:

NOS? It's fucking N20, the 2 being subscript. NOS is Nitrous Oxide Systems, a company yes, but not a product. Get it right. Saying "nosss" makes you sound like a ricer fag who's seen FnF and thinks a laptop and "nosss" will make you king ricer... er racer.

Actually, he would be running in the high 14's with a little practice. When I had my stock tires and stock headers, I ran consistent 15.1's. I think my car is one of the slower ones too.

CAI was my first mod. Heavenly sound in VTEC! But add Comptech headers and sound begins upon acceleration with a low growl turning to race car roar at VTEC! I've said it before and now again, N20 is for racing, why would you use it on the street. Its very expensive. Wait for Comptech Supercharger then you will have power on demand at any time. N20 is illegal in Cali .

I would suggest a moderate shot of nitrous. Nitrous oWnZ. hehe. I used to run a 100 shot single fogger wet on my 2000 3.2TL. Not saying you should do the same but let me tell you this. It was all worth it when I saw the look on an S2000 owners face when I blew right past him a couple cars.

N20

There is a progressive system of N20 out there and I fdorget the manufacturer. it gives a constant stream of N20 into your intake at a moderate rate so you dont damage your engine with big shots. That is the way to go..and yes I AM GETTING the Comptech Supercharger with N20 so no need for an intake.

14.9 w/headers? ouch!
next time you head to the track, you should try playing with tire pressure settings and gate shifting. 14.9 with headers is not so good.. maybe an oil change would help too. or it could be you have dirty fuel injectors.. I recommend Techron Fuel System Cleaner - it does a hell of a job freeing up lost hp.

Out of all the mods I have, Intake and headers really do help out in performance incredibly.

I would also recommend lightweight rims with good tires, and no the stock michelins are not considered good to me
