NOS Kit?
NOS Kit?
I am itching to start feed my bay a Silver bottle (NX) or Purple Bottle (ZEX). I want to be at 13.xx!
I will go with Wet system, starting at 55 Shots!.
Nitrous addict, what is best for the CLS-5AT auto, ZEX wet kit or NX wet kit?
I got quoted like $580 for the a complete NX kit, with a full 10 lb of Nitrous. I need to add a Nitrous Pressure Gauge.
And, how about a 2-gauge mount for Trany Temp and Nitrous bottle pressure?

The N/X kit has better designed and better quality nozzles...Im itching for the baby's bottle too - but I feal my 2nd tranny going...Maybe after it goes, I will think about it.................................
Damn that's sad

Wow, $580 is not a bad price at all.. just make sure you figure out exactly what they mean by a complete kit... some times you might end up spending over a grand after you get all of the "required, but not included" accessories.
Good luck!
Good luck!

one of the pressure valves on my bottle gave loose the first time I filled it up. This action rendered my setup useless. NX didn't warranty it, so the shop who bought it for me had to buy another one out of their pockets.
should be able to run for the first time this weekend. *hopefully*

if you are just going w/ a 55 shot I wouldn't even bother getting a wet kit. Wet isn't really necessary until you are running 75-100. And a dry shot is easier to hide and pull out when it comes time to go to the dealer. Also, IMO less room for error.

sounds like it was the shops fault and the over filled it. I've seen this happen a few times.

I ran the nx wet kit at 75 shot with no problems. I was consitantly pullnig13.4's without headers. Definatley use the Pressure gauge. Also would recommend the a/f gauge. I have owned three cars with the nx kit and never once had any trouble with them. NX is my recommendation.
Bent - Did you use the MSD Ignition safety switch thing ( sorry I dont know the technical names) or the Pill thing...When I was looking into a nitrous setup - the guy at the speedshop was pressuring me into purchasing those 2 things along with the NX wet kit

i'm on my 3rd too
Why one need EGT, is this the Exhaust Gas Temp? What does tell you?
Also, I prefer not having a mechanical microswitch, I prefer the one that read directly the volage of the throtle position sensor.
Does NX kit have one?
Finally, the NX wet kit was $560 not $580, remote bottle opener is $211 more. The gauges are extra too.
Major worries: the tranny!

it gives you a better read out and idea of if you are running rich/lean
Also, why even go w/ the switch, why not just have it hooked up to a button so you can do it manually
Squeezing the button is half the fun!

If you have Venom VC-1000 system you can do what ever you want, linear, timed, or drag mode.
You can still have "the squeesing button" if u prefer but if there is no WOT, NOS won't be activated.

Ah, I thought that squezing Nitrous on anything but WOT is really bad for the engine. in non-WOT throtle The ECU is in economy mod seeing Nitrous with the wrong fuel map is bad, no?

well, yes you should be at WOT when you hit the button. But it's cool in deciding when you are gonna first engage for deciding when you are gonna get traction, etc.
I just prefer a button
everyone has their own preferences
it's nice to have dead to dead races w/o the bottle and then just hit it on them to give them a big suprise
I like ZEX, I have had it for over a year with no problems at all. If you stay within a 55-75 hp range you are safe with a dry kit. There is really no benefit to having a wet kit for 55-75 hp.

Gen x 2 upgrade is everything ull need ..
Bottle heater, Purge valve, blow down tube, etc.
CHeck www.nitrousexpress.com for more detail.
You can also combine rpm switch with WOT sensors to control spray at or only through certian RPM ranges. Or you can use the RPM switch stand alone. I am have the system I put on car spraying only when both of the following conditions are met 1) WOT & 2) rpms are between 2500 and 6600. It shuts it off after 6600 even with staying full on the throttle. I did this to hopefully take some of the strain of the shifts for the AT.
Another point is I still have to "arm" the setup to have it "on", this is done via a toggle button. If the lines have been purged (which the system doesn't need to be armed to do), then I can stil control when I engage the nitrous or if at all for fore mentioned reasons traction, timing of race or turns, choice etc. and still stay at WOT by just turning the system on or off. If I toggle the system on but one of my two conditions aren't being met then no spray. Using these differnt switches (availible on all kits to my knowledge) allows you complete control and flexibility on how and when you nitrous system will engage as well as an element of safety in my opinion.
