non-warrenty vioding performance mods?

I don't know too much about performance modifications. I know for the CL-S you can do some header, exhaust, springs work. I just got back from my dealer where I was scheduling my 15k service and I asked him if simple things like cold air intakes and K&N air filters would affect my warrenty. He said ANY modifications would void it. IS this true? Can you guys think of anything what wouldn't?

I attached a pic of Suzy, my red CL-S. I painted my calipers red and made my own custom grill. Tell me what ya think!

Ahh, it won't let me attach the pic because it's higher than 640x480 res... email me if you want to take a look at her!

My dealership said that Comptech parts will not void the warranty and that a CAI wouldn't void it either.

BULL SHIT!
spoke with the regional service manager for acura, he said that any performance mods (BOLT ONS) will NOT i repeat NOT void your warranty!

It would be illegal for them to void your warranty, if your exhaust rusted and you had to put on a midas muffler would they viod it? NO, if your intake needed a new filter and you put in a FRAM, would the void it?? NO

You guys are tooo fuckin paranoid about this shit, no Acura Dealer in their right mind is going to turn you away for service if you have a CAI, hedder, or exhaust. if they do call Acura customer care and BITCH about it BIG TIME!

seriously Acura has put the fear of god into the dealerships about providing good customer service. if they dont report them, its that simple!

just put some thought into what your worried about, now the S/C i think that might be a diff story!

dealer does not want to pay to repair or replace parts under warranty.and they will find the reasons not to do so.especially they will focus on your mod..even it is a small mod.they will say it void the warranty..

the only ways peformance mods can actually void your warranty is if they can actually find that the mod is the direct cause of the problem of the car...

(i.e.-- water ingestion because of your CAI, which can be avoided with bypass valve.)

again...the dealer CANNOT void your warranty unless they find that your mod CAUSED the problem

so...don't be paranoid :P

also...if u can, try to find a mod-friendly dealership in your area, that always helps (i.e. Park Ave Acura in Jersey.)

your wrong...the dealer does want to do warranty work they get reinbused by honda....the "magnusson moss act." states in simple terms that the dealer is responsible for PROVING the modded part in question is cause for the warranty work in question...call client care in front of them and make a manager tell you while on the line with honda ,your work is not covered...it wont happen...they wont deny you...now to make things simpler look at it like this...if you buy springs and your shocks fail...dont bother asking the dealer for warranty work ,but if you buy springs and your A/C fails well , you're covered

They wouldn't touch your car because of a sticker.........FIND A NEW DEALERSHIP. My dealership SELLS and INSTALLS comptech parts........And the service guys thought the CAI was cool also.
