Newbie questions

Just bought an '03 CL-S. Seems great but I can't get the memory seat to change position when I unlock and open the door. I have tried pushing the lock and unlock at the same time to link it. Got it to work once. Any ideas?

Also the car come without an owners manual. Anyone got one they would part with? The dealer wants way too much for one.

Thanks.

You probably have not set the seat settings right. I used to use that feature but don't anymore so I forgot how to set it. It has to do with which key fob you are using, #1 or #2.

helminc.com sells the owner's manuals for $35. or ebay has them occasionally, esp the 01 version.
What color, setup is your CL? 6 speed?, Navi, mods??
And, oh yea, welcome the the CL club!

If it's a 6spd, the parking brake needs to be on for the seat to go into the postion that's on the keyblob that opened the door (ie. position #1 from keyflb #1).

I've got my car set up so that I drive with the seat set in position #2. When I used the #1 keyflob to unlock the door, the seat goes all the way back. I can easily get in without wearing out the side bolster on the drivers seat. I hit memory #2 on the door, and the seat move foward so I can reach the peddles

Only works if the parking brake is on tho'

I used to do that too, but I stopped, partly because it seemed like a lot of use of the seat motors and the leather seems to be holding up ok, I do try to be careful getting in.
I didn't know the hand brake had to be on tho, that's interesting.

Thanks to all for the info, I wasn't setting the parking brake. I'll give that a try.

The car is a black 6 speed, no navi. No mods yet, but who knows what the future holds. Gotta let my wallet heal up first.
