Automatic bezel re-paint

Hey all. I have an 03 CL-P and the only damn thing that is silver on the whole car is the bezel that goes around the shifter. Kinda looks out of place at times. I was thinking of either covering it with the same fake wood material or maybe even painting it black.

Anyone try this before?

I know that if you get the aftermarket wood trim pieces, it has a piece that covers the shifter. Does anyone know if you can buy just that piece?

Why don't you see about removing it and painting it.

call up one of the places that specializes in wood trim, some of them will sell individual pieces.

Cool, great to know. IIa m going to try and find one used and paint it. This way if it gets screwed, I will still have a good one.

How do you get that thing off? Do you have to take the whole center console apart?

You shouldnt. It seems to slide around a little bit, so I imagine that it can just pop off.
