Newbie with a CL-P

Hey guys i'm new to the forum as you can see. bought myself a CL-P recently (I know, shoulda gotten the Type-S, but ehh). Anyhow I put an intake on it already and I ordered some headers, the XS Power headers. and i was wondering how much you guys paid to have them installed? i know a few of you guys installed them yourselves but i dont know if im that skilled and i dont really wanna screw anything up, so what do you guys think is a fair price for that install?

that's why i'm selling my xs power and picked up the comptechs. as far as install it depends on the shop. anywhere from $75-$200 and several hours of labor. just curious...you've got the legal issues "covered" with the xs but don't have anyone to hook you up with the install? at any rate it's a nice mod

They pretty easy to install with the right tools, and esp. if you have access to a lift (which I did). Otherwise, count on 3-4 hrs labor at $75-$90/hr.

If you dont have a lift I would recommend having them put on. My place charges $50 bucks an hour and said it would have taken them 2 hours. I did it my self with a small shitty floor jack and stands and it took me all weekend and my body felt like i ran a marathon and my hands looked like i had been in a fight.

hmm. thanks alot guys. i'm gonna see what i can do. got it down to 175 so far...gonna try to see if he can go lower tho. for the record tho, is this install really gonna give me a good increase in power? a couple of the guys i talked were very skeptical about the gains. and some said there wouldnt even be a gain...

Nice. I mean i know its not exactly a supercharger but for the trouble it seems like a good gain would be fair. I'm not exaclty looking to take on G35s, just smoke em

Dude, I went to a little mexican smog check joint paid $150 and they said when I was up for smog check they'd make sure I passed....good thing its right next to the liquor store I always go to so I make sure to stop by an BS a little so they don't forget about me! haha. As for the gain, I'd say its the best mod besides a S/C! Comptech's website says 32whp so even if the cheap XS ( I know I have them too) ones only give you say 25hp I'd say HELL YES! Now granted thats on a CL-S but hey....even 15HP is better than nada right?!?

Damn skippy! I just hope the install goes smoothly...one of the guys said something about moving the rack and pinion to get to the back header... is that right?

No, definitely don't need to touch any of the steering components. Skip that shop and keep looking.
