new NSX w/ small v12???????

double I'm praying now. Please, please put a small displacement v12 in and let the ass whoppin begin

As per edmunds.com:

http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/futur...0/page001.html

After a slight freshening in 2002 that included a restyled front fascia and some fixed headlamps in place of the flip-up units, a more extensive revamp may show up in the 2004 or 2005 time frame. This time, the NSX gains real exotic status with the addition of a V8 or even a small V12.

I would thikn they'd opt for the V-8, because it would be more economical to share the same engine with a bunch of cars. They will, however, make it high revving in the NSX version i would imagine.

Yes, so have I. However, this is the first i've heard of a v12 option.

I heard about a 450hp V8, no talk about about a V12. with the V8 there should be 0-60 times in the mid to low 4's

Realistically, I think the NSX will come with a v8 that will be shared with the RL. Of course, the NSX version of the v8 will be supercharged but to think that the ultra conservative(boring) Honda/Acura execs would consider a v12 would be mind blowing!!!

The only thing I can think of about this v12 rumor business is that it's basically a double-length v6, which Honda/Acura are experts at... Same arrangement, same angle, same counterweights, etc etc, just double the cams and the crank!

Actually no counterweights Ahh the beauty of a perfectly balanced 48 valve DOHC V12

Doesn't matter to me whether its a v8 or v12 (how bout a v10 ), as long as honda/acura makes it have a 4.0 L or greater displacement engine producing 110 hp/liter That would be sick Wishful thinking, but if Honda added a performance accesory like a supercharger then fogetaboutit :wackit:

You would think so but the NSX has never shared an engine with another car in the Acura lineup and I don't see why Acura would start now. The new RL will be lowered in price despite the addition of a v8 and the new NSX will either cost the same or more so I don't think they will share the same engine. Engine design weights heavily on the placement in the body. The NSX will undoubtly stay midengine and so unless the RL was going to get a redesign of the chasis i don't think sharing engines will happen.

If the NSX is a v8 it will not be supercharged. It will be N/A 4L ivtec that will put out 400hp. 100hp/L on a v8

The V12 would be sweet but dumb for Acura to do. If they kept it mid-engine like now the cost of that thing would be ridiculous. It would be up in Ferrari level of price and honestly, they cant compete against the Italy boys.
IMO, the V8 sounds good, 4.0 400hp version would be awesome if thats what they do. But if they still keep it under $125, Id be shocked. Honestly, they need a real head turner with the new NSX which I think they can and will do. But its gotta be a damn special car.
