OK forget the insert..that looks great!!! Such a minor change makes such a huge diff. This is exaclty what they *should* have done with the 03 CLS. Ok..I really want to do this..but my car is leased...anyone think this will be a problem? I wonder if they'd even notice if it was done well.

Rather than painting with spray paint I'd take it down to my local autobody/paint shop(i don't trust myself with spray paint)...althought that's one hell of a spray paint job you did. Good job man and thanks for the idea.

BTW...your MR2 is amazing. I've never seen a hotter toyota. Kinda makes me want one now.

Man I am totally impressed by how much this changes the look of the car. Good work of discovering this! Now I just need to get the balls to try it on my car!

Thanks for the comps guys, any questions about wheels & mods are listed in my album page in the orginnal post :P

Acura has lost a big financial opportunity w/ not offering the CL a bodykit... So, I will be photoshopping ideas for my CL's front spoiler & work w/ my bodyshop guy to see what we can fabricate. I will try to design it similar to the SEMA CL or the Kaminari's kit for the Legend.

Here's another idea I came up that's simple, clean lines, small section to fabricate for the center section of the bumper.

Nice job! That small touch makes a huge difference. Thats definately the way it should come from the factory.

I think it would w/o any problems... Cause I've painted my MR2's front spoiler at least 4 times over the 8 years I had it and it was very durable. Reason for repainting cause of rock chips since it was so damn low... All bumpers will have rock chips, so I very sure the paint can handle the weather, but not rocks hitting against it at high speed... All car bumpers paint can't handle rocks at high speed...

That looks sweet. And it makes such a big difference. Ever thought of painting the lower grill silver too? I just wonder what that would look like. Maybe you could PS that just to get an idea?

I was wondering what it might look like if you filled the fog light holes, and painted over the holes with silver.

We really don't have a good option for our fog lights. I just took out the Polarg m6s because they had warped so badly, and one of them was out. I don't want to have to buy new ones every 8 -12 months.

You painted your MR2's bumper with spray paint? No drips? No clear coat?

Oonowindo,

I am pretty new to the forum & never saw your car before, and it's was my idea... Doesn't mean that I was 1st person to have this idea, yours may be the 1st... Many people may come up w/ same the ideas to enhance the look of their car and never ever post it on a forum.

Just don't want people to think I stole someone's idea and tried to take credit. Anyways, it does make our car a tad bit more aggressive.

Yes, w/ spray paint but only on the air dam/lip spoiler, not bumper. I would only recommend this on gloss black, cause it matched 98% of my car. Gloss black finishes w/ a clear coat. I don't think I would ever try this w/ any other color besides black.
No drips if u're very careful, and multiple thin coats.

I got in a wreck recently and just noticed tonight that when they painted the bumper they painted most of the black portion. I thought something looked a little different. Without seeing this post I don't know how long it would have taken me to notice.

This is my first post so hopefully the picture shows up.
