One month report

Well, it seems after one month of driving my new CL it has been the perfect car for me. But as of about 7 hours ago at 2AM, I heard a loud crash outside my apt and realized some DRUNK MOTHER FUCKER lost control of his car around a corner and ran into MY FUCKING CAR. Basically my car was in the first spot around this corner (where I always park) and the SOB was doing, according to the cops, about 72 in a 25 RESIDENTIAL AREA So after about 3 hours outside dealing with this fucker and cops, my car was towed away, completely totaled. Ya know, it feels real good to have some idiot hit your car, then completely realize you have only owned it for 3 weeks. I was even more happy when they were towing it away to see my dealer tag still on my car, felt good. So, as of right now, I have a math and english class to attend, (even more fucking happy about that) and Ill keep you updated on how much I am gonna sue this mother fucker if possible.
Any ideas for the next car? Im thinking 911 turbo after I get everything from his parents and him. Ill recheck the post after I get back from class. By the way, all yall have a GREAT DAY

that blows...is the drunk dude OK? 72 mph is pretty f'n fast to hit a parked car. Any idea what kinda cash you're gonna get from the insurance company on that?..Hope you don't get shafted.

He was 21, I overheard his friend telling the cops they were out celebrating his BDAY last night. He was driving a '97-98 Silverado extended cab Z71. The kid was fine, his friend really shouldve been driving cause he was MUCH better off than the guy who owned the Z71. I dont know yet about the insurance, still waiting to hear and figure out what I am gonna do. If I can still find a car just like mine, Ill get it, but more than likely all the 02's are gone now so I might end up going 3 series if I can work it out. Im just not that big of a fan of the '03 CL. Ill keep yall posted when I get back from class. Late as hell already still doing hw.

Damn that really sucks!! Unfortunately since you weren't near the car I don't think you have any recourse besides an insurance claim. Is it definitely totaled? At least it's a new car and worth 75-85% of it's original value. Well good luck and like zeroday said, hope you don't get shafted!

I agree, no one was hurt on your end so I would think if they bought you a new car and maybe a little extra for personal contents, that would do it.

I’m sure his insurance company will first offer true value (27-28), but I think since it is only a month old they’ll work out something with a local dealer to get you in an 02 or 03 for no extra cost.

For your benefit, it better be totaled. A new car will probably go to 90% value before they write the check.

Yea, its totaled. The towing co said this morning that he considered it to be. The whole passenger side and trunk is just demolished. The guy next to me had an accord and his car is pretty bad, its probably driveable, just he needs to replace his whole driver side. Yea, I figured that they would try to find me a new one. Oh well, back to class. Thanks for all the help, I am pretty much in a rage since this morn.

I bet there's some 1st gen'rs that would love to get their hands on that engine & drivetrain to make a second CL hybrid...

Sorry to hear about that. But now you can get a 6 speed 2003 CLS since your car was only a month old. Best Wishes!

Trust me, its not worth it. Thats my second car now that someone has totaled that I really liked. First was my 328is, now the CL. I am just glad that I am getting back the same car.
Now I have to break the damn thing in again just a little pissed about that. By the way, I just washed and waxed my baby yesterday too. Well, at least it looked damn good being towed away
