NEW Awesome future mod!

So...I've always been dreaming about wanting to this...and call me crazy if you want...but I've always wanted to pull the CL J series engine out to drop this is in (w/either a built 6speed or auto tranny)!

Type: V6
Displacement cu in (cc): 194 (3179)
Power bhp (kW) at RPM: 290(213) / 7100
Torque lb-ft (Nm) at RPM: 224(304) / 5500
Redline at RPM: 8000

and have this hooked up to it!

And of course have other mods done to the engine to fine tune it too...

Been thought of many times. It would be a great mod, but not feesable. Considering that the majority of us CL owners are BAN's, it most likely won't happen. But if you can do it, then more powah to you.

What's a B.A.N. ??

Why not just buy an older NSX... The CL isn't the the greatest performance platform to begin with, so why bother... Under 50K miles the NSX is in the 30K price range, but with over 70K miles they dip down into th 20's...

Now, if you want to put a J32 motor in a S2K, that's another story

I couldn't agree more. The only thing is, it doesn't matter how old the NSX is, they don't come cheap regardless. Then again, you'd probably spend more in modifying the CL (or S2K for that matter) thand you would on the NSX anyway. Tuff call.

You're money would be better spent just getting a fully built J Series motor. To put that motor in a CL would cost more than the car is worth.

Don't know if the price tag of that motor would be worth the extra 30hp you get from having the j32a2(type s motor).

Just buy the NSX after you were done with the CL it wouldnt be worth a fraction of what you invested... but the NSX would still bring the $$ all day long.

For the amount of money you would spend on getting the motor installed you could put towards weight reduction in your car. That can help just as much if not more in some cases.

hood
trunk
fenders
replacing glass with plexi
lightweight wheels

This engine also came in a car that weighed like 500 pounds less than the CL. For a set of headers and an intake you would match the power of that engine.

Lord Helmet got me thinking that those two parts are the way to go first...it would be a huge decrease in mass!

EDIT: I just don't know if it would look good with DEP
