New 6speed Accord gets best engine award, C&D's tenbest, and + forbes review
hey
Well the jury is still out on the new Accord's styling, but it seems as if everyone loves the car once they have driven it. For example:
It just made one of 2003 Car and Drivers 10best...its now the 17th yr its done this out off 22yrs since this awrd was conceived.
And it has also earned a spot on wards 10 best engines of 2003, heres the entire list:
Lastly, Forbes.com reviewed the new accord 6speed and seem to really like it alot....forbe's 6speed review ...this is interesting b/c Forbes usually isn't crazy abt under 30k cars...however, in this case, they say that the new 6speed tranny is better than the shifter on a Bmw 3series & the best manual under 30k
Not bad but the reason why I bring this up is b/c I think honda has something big for the Tl and hopefully the Cl as well since these cars all derive off the accord platform

Collective, I agree w/u brotha
The tranny in the 6speed manual and accord are nearly identical....however, one thing the forbes testers do not mention is the clutch in the accord v6....i find it kinda weird since most peeps who test it note the "touchy" clutch on the 6speed Cl but in tis case not in the accord...maybe the accord has a diff clutch

what's even more amazing is that Honda can get 200+hp out of a 2.0L engine without turbo charging. OK - so it's not as torquey but trick none-the-less.

trying to get a lil V-I
I wonder what criteria they used to came up with that ranking of engines. I imagine if it was part drivability they would have to take into account the transmission as part of the package.

Suzuka Master
Ok, so why do they have the M3 engine on this list when there are lawsuits pending because of so many failures? How good is an engine if it can't be revved to redline?

Yes same turbocharged 20valve 1.8T 4banger found in the
Golf/Jetta/Passat/Beetle/A3,S3/A4/TT
It's 225hp in the Quattro TT
a 24v VR6 TT is on it's way though (same powertrain in the GTI R32)
