never underestimate a RSX

i was on my way to a club in schaumburg and had 2 of my buddies in my car keep in mind plus all my audio stuff. im waiting in the left turn arrow lane, when the arrow goes green i take the turn slow onto golf road, while in SS mode, upshift to 3rd and then to 4th, when i see blue headlights behind me and some loud as exhaust flying up behind me.

so i drop it into 2nd and take off, get it to about 60 and this RSX flew by me like i was standing still. as soon as it passed me, my jaw hit the fuckin floor of my car to find out that the little sister of the CL smoked the shit outta me. i got it to about 80 and shut it down cause it is def not worth it to keep going any faster.

i wonder what the hell he had in there, cause it def wasnt stock.

Well wait... how fast was he going when he past you? I mean if he was going 80 when he past you and still going WOT... no chance you are going to catch him when you decide to punch it.

see thats what i dont know. unless he floored it at the left turn arrow and kept accelerating where as i was taking my sweet ole time and then downshifted and took off, he then just flew by me.

it wasnt fair for me whichever way ya look at it, cause he had the headstart behind me, but he seemed really quick none the less.

when i was going about 60 he was about 5 car lengths behind and just flew by me so it was hard to tell how fast he was going around the turn to catch up.

They are really quick, no doubt about it. I/H/E/Hondata will get you 13.9 if you can launch it... which is a problem in the RSX-S

you need headers dude...badly.....

with the super low price of headers these days for accords/CL/TL there is no excuse for any owner not to have headers. damn car shoulda came like that from the factory.

was it a blue RSX S ? I go to Schaumburg all the time and I worked on that RSX If its blue, then its not turbo, but it does have some pretty good stuff in it.

this is going to sound stupid... but that ok if i sound stupid... but what exactly does a header do for the car???

i guess i should know this by now, but i have never messed with the cars engines at all...

too afraid of doing some damage and then having to pay up the ass for a new engine...

so whats the story with headers... a short reply will do...

they help the exhaust gases exit the engine quicker, by doing so you gain power. Engine will run more efficiently, you will also get better gas mileage- if you don't go hard on it. I find myself pushing the car harder and harder with every mod I do, so gas mileage advantage comes in when I go on longer highway trips. As around town I tend to beat the car up which results in crappy gas mileage.

^----waste of money if you're looking for power. Unless you dig the sound and look, then by all means, go for it

even with catback exhaust gains are at best 7hp or so. but the sound with headers, b-pipe and axle back exhaust is just so mean
