Need quick HELP: Are our rotors Captured or do they come straight off?
I need 3 posts replaced....I have been quoted 2 hrs of labor. My buddy told me it only takes about 1/2 an hr. unless you have "captured" rotors....So, when replacing the rotors do they simply come off when you take off the calipers or are they "captured" by the hub?

I just looked in the Helms Manual......
They're captured by the hub. They just slide throught the holes in the rotors when you take the rotors off.

Two hrs is close, I did all four with pads in 1.5 hrs but there was two of us and we were messing around. So I would say 2hrs is close. Do it yourself, you won't believe how easy it is,,, yes your hands do get dirty...

Our rotors are not as easy to remove. You also need to remove the two bolts in the back of each rotor holding the calipers. This is in addition of the pins. I changed my rotors so I know what I am talking about. otherwise, your caliper will not come off. This is pain in neck and time consuming because of the angle.

Yeah, if you dont have a lift, working on a car can be difficult. Especially after you get a charlie-horse for trying to bend like a 15 year old.
Hard, but not impossible.
Just wondering what the quote was for the brake job? Including parts and labor, how mch?

There are two brass screws holding the rotor to the hub. After stripping the hell out of them trying to get them off I had to resort to the drill. They were a pain in the ass!!!

Yup, they just charged me $150 because they didnt have the wheel off and they examined the brakes and rotors with the wheel on...The reason the stems broke was because my wheels were torqued too tight...
I say BS because my buddy put the wheel on, I watched him torque it and it wasnt overdone at all!

I was just so sick of them I said fuck it, I just want my car back
