Hello Acurazine-CL members and car owners!! =)

Own: Nighthawk Black Acura 3.2 CL Type-S (5-speed) Premium Package (Navi, Black Seats, etc.)
Theme: Black/Red

I'm very new to this kind of stuff and dealing with cars. Other than maintenance haha. I have ideas for my car, but I just don't know how to do them. Such as tinting or installing led's, mufflers.... The list can go on.. especially to what I have in store.

I put some pics of my car in the photography section however I'll post some here as well.

So far I cut my emblem and my friend painted it black, then I reinstalled it upside down.. XP something unique? You know? At first I was going to cut the emblem and just keep it as 'A' then remove the 3.2CL and put the 'type-s' logo next to the 'A' and also remove the ACURA logo except for the letters A, C & U. Why? Because if you were to flip the U upside down you'd get the lowercase n and making it read CAn, get it? Put it together and it'd say 'A type-s CAn' XD

Another thing I've done to my car is install red lights in my foglights, pretty BA haha. I've also installed an Option Racing Short Ram Intake =) I don't want to rush into a lot of things at once. So I'm steadily doing ideas one at a time. Anyways, I've organized myself and now I still need to remove the 3.2CL and the type-s however IDK how =/

Right now I need to get rid of the emblems on the trunk. How is this possible? and is there anyway to get rid of the sticky compound (As you can see around the 'V' now below) off and when removing the emblems? Step by step would be delightful and pics!!

not feeling the emblem or the sticker.

some bug and tar remover along with lots of rubbing and maybe goo gone will get rid of the glue marks. or a good detail. first way is cheaper

 

to remove those emblem marks, more than likely, you will have to paint the trunk, since its so old, those marks are embedded into the paint. I had to also.

please DO NOT put any stickers on that car.

This is how you should start off:

lowering springs, $75
Headers (XS hearders are about 100-150, but hard to find now)
magnaflow mufflers $200 (model 14832)
03 Headlights (200-300)
Cold Air Intake

then go on from there.

The emblem is unique something different and the stickers well I didn't feel them either but heck I got them for free XD Thanks for the suggestion though!! Really Appreciate it! =)

Where the heck do you get lower springs for that dirt cheap!?
All I can find are Teins/Eibach which go for 240+ (ex. link below)

Also muffler wise I have (2) 4 in. Stainless Steel Option Racing Muffler Tips w/ a blue flame accent (Must be welded) (Might paint it black to make it hidden)

Intake wise I already have a Option Racing Short Ram Intake.

As for headlights, I'm getting someone to paint the housing black and well get red halo's/audi led strip on the side instead of blue like this (I think he's also in these forums)





fuzzy02CLS - This is a project that I'm doing and along the way I wouldn't mind other people's suggestions which is why I created this thread =) Thanks for letting me know though!! Will look into that while doing some of these 'projects' =)

I also want to paint my grill black, however the bolt is really dinged up (Will show later after doing things in order XP)
But like I said doing it one at a time haha first the emblems > get goo be gone? and if paint is chiped get it detailed right?

Actually it is!! If you read the handbook, it clearly states nothing about idle lights, however strobe lights yes! (Mine are idle) Also note that the blue lights in the inside of cars may not be legal in some states. I haven't been pulled over except for the day when I installed them and a sheriff told me to remove them. I simply replied that they aren't strobing, he was like 'I don't care' and I agreed with him however I still haven't been pulled over because of that (Not that I should but knock on wood anyways) XP

as long as you like them. maybe it's different where you live, but around here, you can only have red lights on the rear of the car

 

Lol I love them and it goes with my theme! Appreciate it btw!! And yeah down here I suppose however state wise I also think it's different. (Not too sure)

 

not feeling the red and black theme that your going for, if you want to stick with it I would do it in the interior

However my finishing design will be something like RonJon's Acura (pic shown below)



Just a tad bit lower. =) and the 4 in. mufflers that I still need to install (later) and well with the red halo's (pic above thread w/ blue installed)

Interior wise -when you open the doors the interior lights (either passenger or driver side) will glow.. red.. lol like in a TC (under steering/glove box and seats) But like I said step by step..

 

Anyone getting rid of their flame suit? I hear someone may need it...

Just don't get to carried away with the red and black.

Trust us there is a LOT more you can get carried away with for this car.

 

I don't see how ronjon's pic above looks ricey or the idea of going in that direction.. but yeah I wish I could photoshop my car and show exactly what I'm doing/talking about.

*update: flipped the emblem over however it's been raining and I haven't had the time to debadge the car... =/ rain rain go away =P

True. Good point. Heck, not to be rude to all CL owners but I'm selling this probably later (next year) and getting another ride.. However like I said I must finish this project

Its weird seeing how my car used to look.

Go to the dealer and buy the 03 grille surround, theyre already painted and cost around $30.

Thats how it used to look. This is how it looks at the moment but it will be getting another makeover by the new year.

The wheels on it now are Work CR-Kais. The calipers are from an RL. The old RJ Legends above are long gone. I sold them about a year ago.

Yea. The RJ Legends were 18x8 +48mm and the CR Kais are 18x8.5 +42 or +43mm.

 

Perhaps a tad lower and have the wheels offset? Idk if you're into doing stuff like that, but I love that look.... Idk why... =P
I wonder if I could offset OEM type-s rims on my CL XD
then again I would still need to lower them..

Rolled fenders + shaved bumper tabs = no rubbing.

Those pics were taken the day I mounted the wheels, so I had not gotten around to rolling the fenders yet.

 

OP: Normally I would tell people to do what makes you happy but I have to step in the way your car is being modded. Your car is stock, you have a clean slate to work with. If you like how these cars look, then mod them that way. They are all clean, tasteful mods.
I would say the halos are borderline but the red roadlamps, thats illegal. Any red light on the front of your car is illegal. If you wanna do the red and black theme then throw some time attacks on there and drop the car.

I had some crazy ideas when I got the car and its usually a good reason to listen to these guys. They know whats clean and whats not.

As for the red 'road lamps' I haven't gotten pulled over since I installed them.. (Knock on wood) I mean just yesterday a state trooper pulled up behind me to check my tag and then pulled up beside me, idled my speed then zoom passed... I have no doubt in my mind that my lights aren't noticable yet he didn't slow down or anything in that matter.

Update: Sorry for not posting anything so far on this thread. My laptop crashed, and getting it replaced. Hopefully selling it and getting a macbook pro.. =P

Anywho just letting everyone know that again, I flipped my emblem back to normal and I debagged everything on the back except for the emblem of course!

My dad gave me this small 200 watt amplified subwoofer lol He wants me to install it and come down for him to hear how it sounds. And for that how can I install an amplified sub to a stock unit?

As for the sub, you hook up the power and ground like normal. On my car I had a in-line converter that tapped into one of the rear speakers and that converted the signal into RCA and then then that into the amp.

I'm about to paint my handles black and finish up striping the chrome to black like one user. (Sorry but I remember seeing (if your reading) you on the Photograph Gallery forums)

Probably later down the road will get toggle red under-glows. But My main priority is to fix my grill that popped off. I need the grill frame, but don't know where to find one.

Update about me:
To ALL CALIFORNIA residents on Acurazine! I will see all of you shortly in the next few months, specifically around Nov. I'll be moving in Rancho Cucamunga and then into Pasadena! So any car meets/shows, LET ME KNOW! =)
