Need help with Tein Basic Coilovers

I am interested in getting the Tein basic coilovers. I was wondering if this would be a smart purchase since my car has
235/40/18 tires with 18"x7.5" rims Offset 42. My main concern is rubbing. I know that i can adjust the height but i dont want to get the product if all i would be able to do is lower it by half a inch before it starts rubbing.
I think that some of the members on the forum with similar setup as mine had some rubbing issues when they lowered their vehicle. Any insight on this will be greatly appreaciated. Thank you

if your really worried go with the ss for ajustable dampening. bout $180 more or so. I'd imagine the basics would be just fine tho.

Sticking out an extra 14mm compared to stock wheels/tires. You should be fine.

And yeah, if you get the SS with the EDFC, you can firm it up in the back so it doesn't sag as much under load. Rear needs to be firm, anyway, to reduce understeer.

Does anybody know any other place where i can get these kits for a better deal then autocarparts. The basic kit is $715 shipped and the SS kit is $965 shipped. Right now i am leaning towards the basic kit since it is a $250 dollar difference. Thank you guys for all the help.

A friend of mine told me that the SS kit is electronic and the Basic kit is not therefore making the labor almost twice as more on the SS kit compared to the Basic kit. Is this true. Also how hard is it to adjust the lowering yourself on both of these kits. Is it something that an amature with instructions can do or does it need to be done by a professional at a shop. Thanks guys for all the help, you guys have been great, especially

Electronic??

Uh, has your friend ever installed struts/springs? I'm guessing no.

The best I can guess is that your friend is under the false impression that the SS kit comes with the EDFC, which has to run the wires all over the car, to the control unit by the driver's seat (wherever you choose to install it). Now THAT would cost a lot more than just a simple SS or Basic installation. Without EDFC, SS and Basic should cost the same to install.

Adjusting the height is done by raising and lowering the perch (spring seat). The kit comes with the tool you can use to spin the perch up and down. I think you just have to take off the wheel and go at it.

ur friend is incorrect, although the Tein SS does have the option of EDFC, it does not fit the CLs. the standard ss/basic do not have any hardware electronic that is needed for the install

they will fit in the rear. you would have to cut your hood to make them fit up front.

I know every car is different, but for me ('02 TLS) front was fine with 2" drop. The front camber was within the correctable range; however in the rear, I need to have camber kit with 1.5" drop. So I think all you need is the rear camber kit.
