Talking Need Help Repainting The car

Well I bought a 03 CL-S 6Spd not to long ago and its getting some body work done and i was very picky about the color not matching plus there were some dings and scratches on almost every panel of the car so i decided i want the whole car painted. the car is currently Nighthawk Black Pearl "NBP" and i am wondering if should repaint the same color or go with the "ABP" Color Code instead. I had a 02 TL-S which was "ABP" and i loved the color on that car. Just stuck on what i should do. Need a answer by mid next week. What do you guys think

do a totally different color, something non-OEM, take advantage of the oppurtunity. I'm so ready to paint my car Brandywine red, NBP is a bitch to take care of.

Won't the resale value of the car go down?

Yeah, that's generally what happens when you paint a car a non-stock color...

It's a HUGE factor on a classic collectible car, where original paint will be the most valueable, repaint in the original color next, and a quality (door jambs, underhood, trunk) color change being least desirable. It's probably not a big factor on a acura... but I would never buy a newish car with new paint, even if it had a clean carfax.

If it's an out of the ordinary color like orange, purple, neon green, etc you're going to limit your perspective customers when you go to sell it to only the "fast and furious" crowd.

A repaint in a original stock color would be fine for most buyers...

Changing the color regardless of whether it is a Honda/Acura paint code will decrease the value quite a bit of you are looking to sell the car at a later date. If the car is NBP, repaint the car NBP if you are looking to sell the car down the road.

If you are keeping the car until it blows up or has 200K plus miles then paint the car whatever color you want.

keep it black but I wouldn't do NBP because of the spiderweb flaws you can get. For a luxury car the NBP paint is cheap IMHO. I'd look at all the black shades and get something close to NBP and use a factory black paint for another model car.

BTW anyone who what this car should be pulling at the track as long as i drive it good. mods right now are AEM C.A.I-HKS Draggers Exhaust and Comptech Headers(will be putting the XS Headers because the comptech still belong to the orignal owner but i wanted to do a track run before returning them back).

I'm doing Brandywine and driving it till the wheels fall off. besides, all that resale value crap won't apply when the car goes for sale and looks PIMP, no-one can deny a good looking car. Unless you are limiting yourself to a dealer sale or trade in.

Here's what I did when thinking about a paint job on my previous CL:

Maybe even battle ship grey:

CLTYPESLOW is right, keep the origional color (NBP), but have them add more Blue pearl in there! That shit would look PIMP in the sun, and you would still have the great color!

I say go for NBP, but with a strong red pearl, instead of blue pearl.

yeah... black shows up a lot of flaws + IMO, it only looks good at night + always has to be clean.

+1 for more pearls!
