reset your ecu, or even easier, disconnect and reconnect your battery. You'll lose your memory's though. And this is an easy fix, the ecu will still have the code in it but only the dealer can get rid of that.

true, but if you know they installed it all back in right then there is really no need for that

if something is actually wrong, the light will stay on after you disconnect the battery

we did disconnect the battery and reconnected it but it was still on. so is there something wrong with my srs or do i just need to get the dealer to reset something?

Unlike many other ecu's in these cars the SRS control unit has a hard memory and even disconnecting the battery will not clear the fault. What will need to be done is called an "OPDS initialization" and subsequent fault code erase. In essence the car needs to know that all the components that it saw as "missing" are back in place and then it needs to relearn the unique properties inherent with the Passenger Occupant Detection System. This procedure is best handled at the dealer since they have the equipment to directly access the SRS ecu.Jens

This really depends on your relationship with the dealer you go to.If it is good they may go ahead and just do the procedure and no worries but if you have a bad relationship or they do not know who you are then they may charge you.Jens
