Need help changing front rotors and pads

Just ordered Rotoras and Axxis pads from the group buy.

I plan on changing them myself. Anyone with instructions on how to replace rotors and pads?

Thanks!

scans of helm's manual will be greatly appreciated...

Don't have instructions handy, however they aren't that hard.
They get done the same as any other brake change. The wheels come off, the caliper comes off, new pads get put on, new rotors get put on, bolt things back up & all is good.
Don't need to bleed them cause your not disconecting the lines.

You should get yourself a pad spreader.

I agree with the other posts - pretty straightforward - especially if you take the elementary one side at a time approach. Just make sure you get some liquid wrench and let the caliper bolts soak for a couple hours! I also usually use a large c clamp to carefully depress the piston.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Word of warning! Be prepared to have an impact driver to loosen 2 phillips screws that hold rotors in place. I had a hard ass time taking those damn things off. Other than that it is pretty straight forward. I do recommend changing to SS braided brake lines while you're doing your brakes. Oh, and use some Motul 600 or something along that nature for brake fluid.

There are 2 bolts holding your caliper on.
There are 2 bolts holding your caliper together once it's off.

Remove large axle nut

Front:
Remove 2 philips screws. These things are a pain. I would suggest going to homedepot and getting an impact screw driver. It'll made the job a breeze.

Rear, the rotors just slide off once you remove the axle nut.
In the rear, you'll have to remove the e-brake stuff from the inside of the old rotors.

The job is extremely easy....with the right tools. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to PM me.

All you have to do to get those screws out is torque the lug nuts down on the rotor. This will release the tension on the screws and they will come out easily. The rotors also have a threaded hole on each side you can screw a bolt into and drive the rotor off the spindle if necessary.

This is true and probably will make things much easier w/o a need for impact driver. No one suggested this when i did the write up, glad u caught it.
