NEED HELP!!! CD ERROR!!!

Hi....just recently I've been getting this CD error PE0 on my 1997 CL 2.2 In the manual it says its a dirty CD but that isn't it. Happened all the sudden. I can sometimes play CD's, but I get the error most times. I read that this is a common error, and sorta a defect with the player. I can hear the player trying to read the CD but it ain't catching. Anyone else ever have this or know a solution??? THanks

I had that same problem in my 99 3.0 cl. It would play for a little while in the morning or something like that and then all of a sudden it would stop and give me that error. It seems like the thing that would spin the cd starts to get stuck and slows down till the cd is not spinning fast enough to be red. The music would play then it would start to get sorta distorted and then ...no music. I had it replaced under warranty at the dealer...they didn't even look at it to see if it could be fixed. Hope this helps.

It happens in my car. I just thought that it was a CD that was too scratched up, but then I put the same CD in a different car and everything works fine. Time to talk to the dealer.....

No warrenty sucks sorry to hear that. Well at least if you change out the stock cd player to a better one it will fit nicely in its place.

I had a '97 3.0-P and mine died within 6 months in the "winter" in FL. Temp was never above 70.

So I guess I might need to get a newer CD player unless this can be fixed for cheap. This sucks I can't believe it ain't a defect.
