Haven't made a thread for awhile. This has been in my mind for a while so here goes. If you had a black car, would you keep them amber/gold theme? Do you think keeping it amber instead of going clear corners look better? Vote please

 

Hey. I have an NBP cls as well...I really hate the amber corners on it with silver wheels, but with Gold wheels it would probably look good/match. I personally like the way silver wheels look most on the black CL-S in general. However, blacked out riding on gold rims is pretty sexy.

Id say amber with gold rims, clear with black or silver. Plus it will be affected by how you tie the package together with tint, painted trim, etc...

silver =okay
black=played out
really depends on the rims i guess.

i got cleared lights, so my vote is that

 

black on black wheels does not look good anymore. That trend of all blacked out (started back in like '00) is played out.

Stay classy... Amber corners and silver wheels.

 

Agree with mrsteve, black on black IS played out. Started with the high class cars like benz and now all I see is fart can civics black/black. Matching your rims really depends on what you have on your car. Matching rims with on 01-02 is limmited since there is more chrome on the car. Anyway, have you considered gunmetal rims?

 

^Agree, gunmetal FTW. Otherwise, keep the amber (regardless) and silver rims, or black with polished lip ONLY (solid black's becoming too played out.

 

Blacked out might be a little played out, but murdered out is another story.

I'm talking NO chrome/silver, ONLY black on everything.

 

Be Different And Color Coat Your Wheels Gold

 

I was flipping through some tuner mags and I have decided that I really like the gold look, but ONLY with a nice chrome lip to set it off. I think unless you have at least an inch of chrome lip, it does just look kind of tacky.

 

I agree with you. Ive done black with silver but blacked out the trim and tinted the ambers.

dam must be nice, in Maryland its 35%, the lowest you can getaway with is 20%

 

yea, i think its 20% here to but......4 years later and no ticket yet. Its just tricky getting it inspected, sorta have to know people.

o2cls, how did you black out your trim? Tape (Trimbrite) or painted?

 

I work at a shop that does digital graphics....I played with reg. vinyl and printed. I went with the printed black 3m with an overlam to keep it shiny like the car.

 

do you have the langths saved to make another set? if so how much would you charge to make one on....you know on spair time.

 

i don't like black on black... black on silver is pretty nice.

Go with silver or machine finnish w/2 1/2' lip. I have a 3' lip but my spokes come out and then back it so it looks like 2'. but stay away from Crome, some looks good but once it chips your f'ed

Hey 02cls, can I have some of that too? BTW your car is hot. I really like how everything is all black. No chrome anywhere. The same for 2clean. i like the black trim tape idea as well. i think in the future i would like to repaint my cl like a jey black or deep black or something. i don't really care for the pearl. IMO.
