Navi conversion...FINALLY!!!

First off, I like to take a few moments to thank all the people that made this possible. First I would like to thank Juker008 who was able to get more Pioneer RGB for us unfortunate ones who either waited too long to get it or got their cars after they had already discountinued the RGB. It was cool he was legit too instead of running off with our hard well earned cash. I like to thank TypeSDragoon. Without his help putting everything together, I definitely would not have a navi conversion to speak of today. After 3 or so hours, we were complete with the navi conversion. Thank you all! Now for the best part...pics

Here is a pic of the relay...a new modification to TypeSdragoon's installation method...

RGB in the background...

Hey look at what I found...an Inspire Fog Light switch

Check out my Navi switch

And the finished product!

nate'sCLS: Thanks!
juniorbean: Thanks!
CO-CL-S: Thanks!
Zootking: Thanks! Using a PS2 until I can get a portable DVD player.
soopa: Thanks! Any shots of the switch you use? I assume you are using a relay then as opposed to running all the wires to the front?

Actually I have another problem, maybe someone can help me. What wire do I tap to do the illumination on the TL switch? I tapped a wire and it did light up, but did it reverse. It lit up when all the lights were off, but when I turned on the lights, the illumination on the switch went out.

Just get another PS2 and use that for home .

But I can see ur point, how are u gonna hide the power inverter for the PS2.

Glade to see everything went well. U are very welcome, just glad to help.

Are you using the GEX-7000 to get the video as opposed to the RGB? Damn...I thought maybe you would have had better luck then me as far as the illumination.

This may seem kinda lame, but this is what I remember from putting in my foglight switch for my foglights. One wire is ground, one wire is to switch on the power of the fog lights and the other wire is the wire that taps into something like the driving lights so that u only turn on the power to the foglights when your driving lights are one. So, if the power gets activated to a particular wire when u hit the switch, shouldn't that same wire power the "indicator" on the fog light switch?

ps.. I'm still at work, it's 11:45pm and I'm tired

Well what me and Hai figured was that if we find a common wire between the sunroof button and the vsa/cruise button, it would have to be our illumination wire. So there was one wire that was common between the two, red with black strip. We tapped on of them and split the wire because the switch requires two illumination (if you look at the pic, you'll see why) and we tried that. Well for some reason, the illumination would be on even tho the lights were off. When we depressed the switch, it lit the little green "ON" indicator as it should. But here's the twist, when you turn on the lights, everything else illuminates like it should, but the Fog light switch...turns off! And further more, every time I activated the lights, it would switch the Navi to video or vice versa!
