My buddy owns a '97 Probe GT and swears he could gun my '98 CL, so we go to a popular spot on a freeway here in DC ( 295 from Ft. Washington by the Police Acadamy ) around 10:45 pm. We pull over, wait until a few trucks get up the road, then merge onto the freeway, roll the windows down - summa bitch Peels out yelling GO! Cheating fucker! I drop my baby down in #3 (hey, it's an automatic - but WTF!) punch it, then upshift to 4 while I am catching him. Bastard knows how to drive his stick, tries to pull away from me when he hits 3rd, but I walk him down and look at him while he is in 4th. Start to pass him and look down - 110mph and going! WHEW!!! take another deep curve, creep past him by a car length, then we shut them down about 5 miles up the road from our start.

Cheaters never win - so now he owes me a 12 pack of brewski - Molson Ice is preferred!

my friend raced me in his Cougar 2.5 5spd on the street and i beat him with my less displacement.... and yes.. he does know how to drive stick.

 

which cl model do you own? good kill!

 

I got a '98 CL 3.0 Premium, although I don't see much difference in the premium part.

 

Lol - the only differences (based on my 97 3.0 CL-P I owned) are leather seats, seat heaters, Blowz Speakers / amp, and ... well, that's about it.
