My very COLD CL-S!!!

I couldn't help but snap a few PICS of the outside temp gauge of my 03 CL-S early this AM during my commute to work in lovely Connecticut. Damn it was cold out!!! Wind chills like -15 to 20 degrees below zero!!! And on top of it my baby is filthy dirty with road salt and it's just too damn cold to wash it.. On a bright note the ABS/VSA seemed to do it's job!

It's the Canon PowerShot S400 Digital Elph. Really cool camera. Yeah, the macro works awesome!

Actually, I was hoping it would have been just a little bit colder for the PICS.. Like a nice "1" or even better a "0" degrees!!! That would have been cool (NO PUN INTENDED). Hmmm. I wonder, does the CL-S display "negative" if it goes below zero as an ambient temperature??

My 03 does. It registered a -4 this morning

It warmed up to -2 by the time I got to work

BTW, nice camera I've been considering a Canon, and when I see pics like this, it just increases my feeling that it's time to upgrade.

yeah, definetly good pics. my Sony 3.2mp takes almost similiar pics. How accurate is the CLS temp guage? how sensitive to wind chill?

What amazes me with this Canon Elph digital camera is that these PICS were taken at around 6:45 AM and it was still pitch dark out. I held the camera about 2-3 inches from the dash resting my hands on the wheel for steadiness. The flash obviously fired. For a camera to logically know what to do with a flash PIC at only 2-3 inches is incredible! I love this camera. Also, I love my CL-S!

Couldn't you take a bigger picture???

Yeah and if you look closely enough at you guage you can see a little slit on the left that is for the negative sign. I read -4 yesterday as well.

Wind chill is due to the evaporation process on skin,,, there for steel in -9 no wind is still -9 in 100 mph wind,,

My temp gauge has registered -18 and possibly lower that I cant remember, several times. The winter of 1993 in Chicago saw -60 with windchill and my 1990 CRX would have no problem starting (nor did the Ford Probe the wife was driving back then).

Was that actual temp? or was windchill taken into consideration?

Mine said -7* last week sometime.

And for you southerners wondering how we dealwith the cold it isnt that bad. It just makes up appreciate the warmer months more.

I'll gladly deal with snow, salt, and ice as long as my house doesnt get destroyed by a hurricane, gets burnt up by a forest fire, or slides down the hill with a mud slide.
