My PS2 got stolen out of my car

I wake up this morning to go to church and i see that my car door isnt shut all the way, i dont think nething of it then when i come back i look under my dash and see my ps2 is gone with the controler. My AV cables are still plugged in but they took the power cord. They didnt steal my cds, subs, amps or tvs in headrest.

I think it is probally someone i know because my friend who lives in the same neighborhood got all of his change stolen out of his car and his sisters car. Im pretty pissed but im glad that they didnt tear anything up.

I have an idea of who did it but i will never know

It’s outside…Why wouldn’t you lock the car?
Anyone could come strolling by no matter how safe you think the area is.
My car sits in a garage and I still lock it every night.

I lock my car at all times. Someone once told me that you don't usually go to the ghetto to steal crap. You go to the nice neighboorhoods. Luckily not more damage was done.

^same here. If I leave my house and have to come back because I forgot something, I still lock my doors even though it takes me 20 seconds to run into the house. Can't trust anybody anywhere. Ya live ya learn I guess.

if someone wants something out of your car or house, it being locked isn't gonna prevent them from getting it, nor will it deter them

I disagree.
If someone lifts the handle and the door opens, it’s a lot easier for them to “go shopping” in your car then if it was locked up tight.

Sure, if a professional wants something in your car (or the entire thing) there’s no stopping them.
But locking the doors is the first line of defense to deter the casual thief.

That sucks man. I've had two cars broken into. It would be a waste of time calling the police if it weren't for paperwork/insurance purposes.

Ravin's right. You DON'T steal shit from the getto, there's nothin good there.

Lesson: Lock your doors!

As has been said, lock your doors. What happened is unfortunate, but it's your fault.

I live in a good neighborhood too, my next door neighbor is a high ranked officer and even his front door got bashed in once for a robbery.

You never know what might happen. That's why I always lock my car, no matter the circumstance.

Unlocked cars keep my locked car safer. Thieves try the easiest targets first. Anyone keeping a car unlocked is inviting problems, and even if locked, if you have visible or obvious A/V gear in it or installed you are more of a target for thieves.
I guess we all just hope it won't happen, but it does.

I wish the idiot who broke my window to steal my radio had just opened the door to realize it was unlocked

this case does sound like little kids in the neighborhood. who else would steal change?

in NC, it is custom to leave car/house unlocked. not in miami. but if i spent the $$$ on a viper, i would definitely use it (doesnt it lock automatically?)

be happy it's only a playstation...

Yeah, they took it out too neat to be someone that didnt care about my car. They didnt rip the red, yellow, white cable out, if they had did that it would have screwed up my electrical system. I just sold my PS2 that i had in my house witch really sucks but my friend said he will give me his for free cause he doesnt use it. So i guess it was a good leason learned but yeah i just didnt think someone would walk down my drive way (which is really long) then walk behind my house and steal something, my car is hidden from the road so they knew it was there. Im checking local pawn shops to see if it turns up and if i can find out who it is i will have a few words with them.

But it is just a ps2

That sucks, man. Really sorry to hear that. Atleast they were nice to you, and only ganked the PS2, and extracted it nicely, and not ripped anything.
