My previous car before the CL-S....

This was my vehicle prior to owning the CL-S

http://myflysi.homestead.com/main.html

The pics are under the My Ride section.

It was my baby but far from a CL-S. The CL-S made it very easy for me to sell the Si All I can say is that its a totally new driving experience.

We're not allowed to park on the grass where Ilive. Even if its on our own property. It must be paved and at least 10 feet away from the street. We're not allowed to have satellite dished in view either. Lawnmowers can only be operated at certain times during the week too...

Thanks for the comments!!

That was my goal. I got sick and tired of seeing civics with tons of stickers and crap. I kept it all clean. It was my little sleeper. There is a guy out here that bought it. I see him sometimes. He already put stickers on the car... pisses me off but oh well, whatever floats his boat. The dealer sold it the next day after I traded it in. I was proud of the hard work I put into it but it was time to move up

The grass.... hahaha I always got that in the e-mails.. "The car is sweet as hell bro but you need to water the grass" hahaha too funny. It was a while ago when I took the pics (winter) and the grass was dormant. Nothing better than some Scotts fertilizer Now the grass is green as hell (I actually have to mow it today after work

Thanks again for the comments. By the way.... I got the Polargs and put them in the CL-S yesterday.... SOOOO much better and easy as heck to install!!!

I never got pics of the engine because it was always a work in progress and I didnt want to take the pics until I got the Type R parts installed (That fadded fast). Before I could take the pics, I got rid of her. Plus, the digital camera broke and I still have not gotten it back from Sony. Thats why I still have not gotten any pics of the CL-S yet.

Thanks again for all the comments.

Nice, clean Si!!

Along with the CL-S, I have a '97 Integra LS. Probably going to trade it in for an SI or RSX Type-S for my daily driver. Does anyone know if Honda is going to release an "Si," "R" or "S" version of the new Civic?

I know that they are releasing the Si again next year or late this year but I think the new look is crap. I like the 2000 year I owned which is the coupe. As far as the Type R civic, this in only in Japan and its a Hatch but there has been talk of it comming out here. Peronsally, I doubt it. What you do is buy the civic and do a Type R engine swap for 2500 - 3500 dollars. This engine has 200 Horses. Not bad for a civic. The engine code is B18C. Hope this helps.

Are you talking about the 200-hp CTR engine in Japan? Wouldn't it cost alot more than $3500 to ship it, etc.? I believe B18C is the engine code for the Integra GSR. B18C5 is the 195-hp USDM ITR engine code -- I'd get one, but they're hard to find, although I found one for $5000.

How much hp/tq does the newly released Civic Si have? Price? When is it available?

Did they compensate you for all your add-ons when you traded it in? I know out here you're almost better of trading in a stock vehicle. How much did they give you for it, if you don't mind me asking.

When talking of swapping a CTR engine, I'm gonna assume you're talking about the 98 n up model and not the Euro CTR being brought out along with the new Civic Si Hatch, because the new CTR is a Euro affair and not a Japan affair, though that doesn't mean it won't show up there like the Accord Euro-R.

Even then, the Japan CTR is a 1.6 liter b16b engine, not a 1.8 liter b18c, and it's not rated at 200bhp, it's rated at 185bhp. I believe you're referring to the Japanese ITR engine which is indeed rated at 200bhp and coded just b18c, without the "5" that we have.

As for the later question on the 2002 Civic Si's ratings,

it's a 2.0 liter DOHC 16v i-VTEC i4 engine (engine code I believe is k20 though I'm not sure) and it's rated at 160bhp @ 6500 rpms and 130lb-ft @ 5000 rpms, according to cars.com & vtec.net from the NY auto show specs and pictures.

This might be the same 2.0 liter DOHC 16v i-VTEC i4 160bhp engine in the base RSX, although I'm not entirely sure since the base RSX is said to only have the VTEC work on the intake cam (CnD), which is common on current SOHC VTEC engines, but I'd imagine the Civic Si would have the VTEC work on both the intake and exhaust, but I can't possibly see why they'd make the base RSX DOHC and not SOHC, and not have the VTEC work on the exhaust cams as well since they have the extra camshaft to handle the varying lobe profiles, so it is indeed possible they're the same engine. The "i", or VTC (Variable Timing Control) works only on the intake cam on all i-VTEC engines, be it one that has VTEC workin on both intake and exhaust cams or just intake cams, according to Car n Driver's lastest article.

And while the Civic Si was rated at it's specs at the NY auto show, CnD lists the RSX engine as a 2.0 liter DOHC i-VTEC 16v i4 at 160bhp @ 6000 rpms and 141lb-ft @ 4000 rpms. The Si/RSX Type S specs at the NY auto show were said to be possiblly subject to change, but the RSX Type S specs haven't changed from the NY auto show and CnD. The only way to truly know is to check out the block codes once both the 2002 Civic Si and 2002 RSX go on sale.

Then ofcourse there's the RSX Type S

The RSX Type S engine is also a 2.0 liter DOHC 16v i-VTEC i4 engine, though rated at 200bhp @ 7400 rpms and 142lb-ft @ 6000 rpms according to the NY Auto show and CnD.

This also could indeed be the same engine powering the Euro Civic Type R (CTR), that debuted there recently at the Geneva Motorshow.

According to 4car.co.uk, the CTR is powered by a 2.0 liter DOHC 16v i-VTEC i4 engine rated at 200bhp @ 7400 rpms and 145lb-ft @ 6500 rpms,

very close to the ratings of the RSX Type S engine, though since Europe and Japan vary on their hp ratings, this probably isn't the same engine, and even if it was, varying emissions laws can also have an affect on the performance of the engines, such as higher compression and more aggressive cam lobes.

And last but certainly not least, there's Japans 2002 ITR (Integra Type R).

Note, there's no such thing as an RSX Type R, this is a full fledged Integra since they have no reason to go to stupid alpabetical lettering for names. Whether or not it's 2.0 liter DOHC 16v i-VTEC i4 engine is the same as the RSX Type S's remains to be seen. It's power is rated at 220ps, possibly close to 220bhp or as someone has said previously, 216bhp, possibly a polished RSX Type S engine with even more aggressive intake n exhaust cams. One thing that doesn't make sense is their base Integras (iS) ps rating of 160, which would naturally coincide with our base RSX's 160bhp. So is ps indeed the same as bhp? Why would they rate their base iS the same as our base RSX, but their Type R would be different specs than our Type S? Other than it truly being 220bhp?

So here seems to be what we have:

2002 Civic Si: 2.0 liter DOHC 16v i-VTEC i4 rated at 160bhp @ 6500 rpms & 130lb-ft @ 5000 rpms

2002 RSX: 2.0 liter DOHC 16v i-VTEC i4 rated at 160bhp @ 6000 rpms & 141lb-ft @ 4000 rpms

2002 Civic Type R: 2.0 liter DOHC 16v i-VTEC i4 rated at 200bhp @ 7400 rpms & 145lb-ft @ 6500 rpms

2002 RSX Type S: 2.0 liter DOHC 16v i-VTEC i4 rated at 200bhp @ 7400 rpms & 142lb-ft @ 6000 rpms

2002 Integra Type R: 2.0 liter DOHC 16v i-VTEC i4 rated at 220ps @ ???? rpms & 206N.m @ ???? rpms (200bhp-216bhp-220bhp???)

Ofcourse Europe and Japan go by PS and NM for hp and torque so the true ratings really could be different. I do wonder if these engines are the same though with the Si and RSX and CTR and RSX Type S, besides the 2.0 liter i4 blocks...

4pumpedCL: Yes, they did compensate me very nicely for the mods. It was all done by a shop so I had all the reciepts. They sold it two days later... I am sure that I would have been able to get more on the streets but I was anxious to get the new CL-S They gave me 17,000 for it. I was happy with that.
