My parents just purchased a ML55 AMG...
...all I can say is wow, I'm really impressed. I was able to drive it today, gobs of V8 power, small and sporty steering wheel, great interior. I liked how the audio components were integrated into the navi system. The only think I dislike about the car is the brakes, they are a bit sensitive. I'm kinda pissed now because my mom has a faster car than me (a lot of cars are faster than a CL-P) she had a Jeep Grand Cherokee before.
A SUV that goes 0-60 in 6.4 sec? Holy shit! The new BMW 4.6is is going to do it in 6.2, it also has 20 in rims....I can't wait to see it!

i highly reccomend the v60 phone with voice activation - expensive but if your buying a ml55........
regular v60's will not work with the mb software in the fiber optic network
make sure the cigarette lighter campaign has been done

I understand if he can't get pics yet...it takes a while for that glue to dry. Not to mention some kids get so detailed they even paint engine parts and brake calipers. Plus, his mom probably won't let him work on it till he's done with his chores and homework. A nice model car takes a couple weeks at that rate...I"m sure he'll have his pics up soon.

I don't understand why anyone would but the ML55 or X5 4.6is (or even the other models). Almost no one takes them off road, they are slow compared to other cars in thier price range and have less utility. Who would take an ML55 off road?
The BMW 540i wagon is cheaper than both and quite a bit faster. handles better and has more luggage room. Seems like a no brainer to me
The X5 and ML class are nearly pointless cars :o

Basically, simple answer is that people like that high view over everybody. Women fill safer in them and they are much cooler than station wagons and minivans. His mom bought it because she could afford the fastest and the most expensive one available. MB and BMW make these trucks because they can sell them at a huge profit. Next....

I was gonna post a review of the bmw 4.6is but thought it would be dumb in this forum cause i was drivin one all weekend. My uncle brought it from his work. They are pretty quick i was drivin aroung lookin for some cl-s' to race but had no luck. The only thing i didnt like about it is that its hard to use the navi and radio, well i guess thtas how most german cars are. But any ways the car is bad ass i was getin looks all day cause there like no 4.6's on the road and like almost a year waithing list.
Hopefully i'll get some pics when my uncle brings it next time!!!

Seriously, puting that great motor in an SUV is a huge waste. It would much better suit an E55. If you want space and want to go fast. Buy a BMW 540 wagon and smoke both the ML55 and X5 4.6is all day long. And you will have a lot more money to sit on. Supercharge a 540 wagon and you have an M5 eater
Sorry, those cars just seem completely illogical to me

what do you get out of your stock tires? - 5-7,000 miles? - 10 seems to be streching it at our place - the supercharger would lower that even more, (sounds tempting to drive though)
