My New Grillllllleeeee (pictures of process)

Here she be.....

heres how i did it... Basically i took the grille off the car....unscrewed everything etc. and had it down to just the black plastic. then i decided hmm how am i goign to cut this?? and then i tried these big clippers but the plastic was too strong. So i decided to heat thigns up alittle..........the pictures can explain..

First i was trying to use a big seraded blade to cut through the melted plastic, it worked okay, but then i borught my heavy duty kitchen shears and they cut the the plastic much easier, and more accurate.

I'd have to say the hardest thing was fitting the chrome trim back over the mesh.

Looks good. Real inventive with the burning.

I would have been saying to myself through all this...."OK, now just don't fuck this up!"

That looks hella sweet. Nice job.

I wonder if Ron uses the same burn method for his grills?

I think you are definately the only person in the world that has ever set their grill on fire to make a custom grill. Looks good though .. I would definately paint the chrome trim black

I'm glad it worked for you but I don't think I've ever seen anyone mod a part of their car by lighting it on fire! Certainly not plastic parts anyways.

I like the chrome with the black. How did you get the mesh and chrome surround to work?
