that looks fckin badass! I may have to get the same setup! (haha..I said I would stop with the mods...yeah right!) Are the components heavy? And any rattling? I'm assuming the new amp just handles the sub? everythng else is factory right?

i bought the amp and sub online, the install was $340, and thats for the custom box, wires, and shit. but the guy gave me an great price cuz i kinda kissed his ass. Im good at that.

Its not heavy at all.... spriro picked this sub out, where the box is suppose to be small as hell for it. So not alot of wood in my trunk. no rattles!!! I just have a little rattle on my lience plate, but ill fix that with some rubber peices. Sounds great! I may need a equalizer for it cuz sometimes i dont want alot of bass, so even with the bass control all the way down its still bassy for some songs. But yea it soo worth it. I kept all the stock speakers and headunit for now. I will change them whenever i find funds for that.

Do you think i need it? I dunno... most likey i wont really put anything in the trunk where it would hit the sub, so i might not.

The install looks great! I'm next... hopefully.

I have one question though. Why does everyone (or almost everyone I should say) point the bass speaker toward the rear of the car rather than into the cabin? Wouldn't it make more sense to turn the speaker around so the thump vibrates throught the cabin and not out the back of the car?

I was thinking a speaker behind each of the rear seats with an amp somewhere in between. All custom install of course.

To begin the sub pushes air for the lower tones in the music. The larger the diameter of the sub the lower the tones it can produce and the more surface area to push more air. Aluminum subs can push more air due the rigidity and relatively light weight.

In most cases it is better to have the most distance between the front of the sub and interior wall of your trunk which is side to side for a single to reduce sound deadening.

Since you typically have your trunk closed when listening to your subs a side facing sub will usually sound a little cleaner. A lot of competition set ups face out or up to hear when the trunk is open. That is why there is such a diffence between the trunk being open or closed.

Again placement is mainly chosen to reduce the amount of space lost. I will have a single 12" sub in the left side facing to the right. It is only a box for now to play with location and direction. Plus I can remove it to have extra room in the trunk.

damn, I didnt know it costs that much for such install. Maybe I should go into installation business. I'll be freaking rich
Acura Crazy, it looks to me like you lost your access to the spare tire. Am I wrong?

About the your sub protection, I thought exactly what you thought. I would never put anything in the trunk that would hurt the sub but I was wrong. Luckily, my box came with the plexi glass cover and it has scratches all over. You might think of a way to put in a quick grill so you can put it on when you are about to put something in the trunk and take it off for show. Hint: a pop-in grill. Pull the bottom piece of your door jam up and you will know what I am talking about.

Nice set up AcuraCrazy. Now I just wish I had enough extra money around so I could do that for my car.
