What the hell happened to my keys? Did the red part fall off or something? ... cheap sh!t

 

I think its just paint?

 

That's what happens when you rub it too hard.

 

Spray paint that bad boy again!

 

It didn't slowly fade away. One day it was red, the next day it was black...

 

Are the 2002 keys the same? What about the remote thing?

Are both sides like that? Maybe something like finger nail polish remover got on it and disolved the paint. My car's 2 years old and the red paint on both sides look perfect.

Mine's white.. and the word ACURA on the actual FOB isn't painted at all.. what's up with that?

 

That red part is a Latex coating. If u poke it and tug at it in the right way, the whole thing can fall off at once.

my key's red on both sides after 1.5 years

 

happened to my CL keys after about a year of ownership
and only on one side like that too....grrr..

I have that same remote FOB, it's from the '02 TL/MDX. Just order one from ACP or your Acura dealer.

As for the other TypeS thing he has, someone here did a group buy on them. I don't need more junk on my keychain so I didn't bother.

 

When I got my car I got 3 sets of keys:

1 Key had both sides with the red Acura Logo
1 Key had only one side that was red the the other was just like yours
1 Valet Key (Grey).

Is it possible that those keys swapped?

Why they gave me that combination...I dunno.

Just my take.

 

how much would it cost for the 02 tl/mdx key? and what would be needed in order to swap! it looks beautiful!

my acura logos are white and the ACURA on the fob is uncolored.


never had the color on any of my 6 Acura keys fall off, but i did get melted chocolate in one of the logos once :sqnteek:

 

Mine are red... but they are chipping off. Its a non-issue as far as I'm concerned.

 

my TL-S keys have the white insert...I have a spare TL-S remote, because I bought one when I had my CL-S and now I'm not using any of the 3 I have...LOL
