Just got my CL a week ago... Any comments are welcome

 

looks clean...how much did you get it for? miles? mods?

 

I drove it from Chicago to Houston. When I got it, it had just hit 75,000
No mods
Type S of course

I paid $9,000 for it, but I since las week have done the 75K maintenance, replaced the battery, the rear calipers-rotors-pads, and done alignment on it ---- totaling $761. So so far I have paid $9,761 for it. I THINK I need to replace the engine mounts and that will be a bit hit... but I am VERY pleased with it's performance.

When I have more cash I will clean it up. I need to clean those little dents and scratches on the sides and bumpers....

nice, now u just need 03 head lights, grill, rims, a drop, headers, intake, exhaust, oem TL lip kit, gucci suede interior, 8 tv screens, 2 12" subs, lambo doors and your SET!

j/k but what happened to your front plate?

Front plates... not sure, 1100 miles road trip happened?

I do like the '03 dark headlights though...

Yeah, '03's are great, mine is an '02, I think I like the tail lights better on the '02 and the headlights of the '03....

 

Good investment my friend in a car. Has it had its tranny replaced, also the only suggestion I will make is take thoes damn mud flaps off, just my opinion though. I think the CL just looks a hell of alot cleaner with them off.

 

LOL! I had not put any attention on the mud flaps! They do look strange....

Original tranny (makes me nervous... what are your thoughts?)

 

mud guards look fine, and if you take them off i'm sure there will be plenty of mismatched paint and scratches around it. if you want you can paint them an acura black to match your body better though. but your front bumper looks faded and scratched.. is it?

yeah, there are scratched in the bumper (yellow) but the color is not faded, I think it's a lighting thing in the picture...

Yea, I had looked at a silver one with black interior and I didn't like it that much because it made the interior look smaller and less elegant. I think the black interior is sportier thought, which is the the look most people here go for.

As for the sale - do think it was a good deal?

 

Ewww original tranny? I would drive it really really easy, I dont think you fall under the warranty for replacement now so drive her easily, if the tranny does fail you might fall under a courtesy repair if you sweet talk the dealership, hope u have good luck!!

 

If you find a good dealership, most will be willing to change out the tranny and all that needs to be paid is the cost for labor which I was told is around $800.

You are only at 75,XXX miles so you still have 34,000 miles or about 1.5 years which I am guessing that you will hit the 9 year deadline before the mileage deadline.

Don't worry about your tranny, it is blown out of proportion on here. In terms of car reliability, yes it was lacking in the design, but its not like 99% of peoples trannys have exploded.

I think its like something less than 5% of vehicles have had to have their trannys replaced.
Maybe I am being mislead.

 

Eh, I guess its 93 months and not 9 years. You are probably pretty close to that date with an 01.

sweet ride btw, I think the CL looks best with the factory spoiler...all non-spoiler CLs look pretty wierd IMO

 

my old 03 wheels look good on the car man! glad we got that all sorted out in the end. makes me miss em once theyre gone but im still loving the ronjons

 

Very nice. I have to get a new pic of mine up here. I actually like the '02/'02 CL-S wheels, but why do they ALL have to have the curb rash!?!?!? I have never curbed a wheel in MY LIFE, and everyone does it to these cars, haha.

I saw one a few weeks ago that had dents in every panel, paint f'd up, and perfect S wheels.........couldn't figure it out..........
