My HBP has arrived

Just got it from UPS. I talked to Shad at Comptech and they will do the install, hopefully this week I'll do the 100 octane unleaded mix as well so i shouldn't have any problems i hope !!

I will do a before and after dyno to see what the HBP nets.

By the way, as reported by others, Comptech is working on a piggy back ECU for our cars as an offshoot to their new TL SC development.

Awesome news Glenn. From what i've heard the power felt in the HBP over the stock pulley is pretty impressive.

Can't wait to hear how it goes.

That's great news. You're going to have to change your name from Red Rider to Red Flash.

We should plan on going to the strip for one of the Sactown Meets to test it out. I can't wait to see the power of the HBP.

I hope you know you're really making it tough on me sticking to my original plan of doing the SC mod last. :

Yeah, we should do a weeknight meet and do some runs !!

Go find some 100 unleaded in the area and get the HBP now, might as well save the $$ on install.

This drives me nuts. They'll sell it to us, they'll install it for us, yet it still voids the blower warranty.

You will certainly feel the difference and I am glad to hear Comptech is installing it. Hopefully they will get away from that old policy as several of us have been running it for quite some time without problem.

Yeah, when i talked to Shad he said Jonesy will do the install, but be sure to let him know that i'm aware that it will void the SC warranty. Oh well, i've had it on for close to a year and a half with no probs, so what the hell !!

Thanks Scalbert !! I figured that Comptech will do it right and tune anything else while they're at it.

My guess is that as loyal as i've been to Comptech, that if the HBP creates a problem, they'll still take care of me. I'm hoping that with regular use of 100 unleaded octane at the pump giving me 94-95 average, that there will be no problems. I guess i'll soon find out !!

You know it Bro, tomorrow !! I actually ran 2 tanks in a row of 95 octane average when i thought the part was going on several weeks ago, and the throttle response was already improved !! Can't wait to feel it with the HBP !!

Congrats!!! Hope the install goes well and that you get that extra kick you're looking for. Can't wait to see those dyno #'s. Also, I'm glad Shad is still working on the piggy-back. I really hope it will get done and make more power for our cars.

BTW- I was only able to locate a single station in S.J. who sells 100 octane. So I'm not too hopeful about getting a HBP.

You're going to really like it. I was more impressed when I got the HBP then when I got just the SC w. the basic pulley. Your car is really going to surprise people at the track..."What a Acura Luxery car in the 13s?????"

i think its retarded for comptech to void the warranty just for installing an upgraded part. maybe because they fear that if you purchase a competitors pulley and if it breaks the blower then you could simply get it covered under warranty if you just purchase their HBP, install it and tell them it broke? or maybe they fear that becuase their HBP creates soo much more power people will start driving so fast that they will kill themselves and have a law suit in their hands, this way they deter a lot of people from actually upgrading it and target those who are real enthusiast.

i have a simple solution, they should sell yet anther package, one with the regular pulley and one with the HBP but for an additional $500. that way you still have the warranty!!!!!

good point. There is no way that the extra 1.5 to 2 PSI of boost is going to hurt the blower.

If it's not that far, you can top off to get your 94-95 average, and then fill an extra 10 gallon tank for your next 2 fill ups.

From what I'm hearing Comptech is doing a much better job in turn around time. Most things being shipped out on the same day. I know that Comptech has had its fair share of problems as well.
