Just driving with the wife today running around and spending TOO much money...

Anyhoo, I see something red in my rearview mirror. Oooooohhhh, it's an RX-8.

Roll up to a light...

"Eric, don't you dare", barks the wife. Fortunately for me, I wasn't really listening. :P

Junior in the RX-8 looks over and revs. a bit. It's on baby. VDC gets turned off. And I begin to wish I still have my summer tires on.

Oh well... Clutch in, car in first. Rev it up a bit... 1200rpms or so.

GREEN!!!

The pirellis gripped pretty good actually. By the end of first, I had him by a car. Shift into second and the tires are really screaming, but the car still moves along fairly well. I think I heard some hot blonde screaming at me who was in the car at the time, but I don't quite remember.

Ok.. So I get traction in second and REALLY pull on the car. Up to 60, I nail the 2-3 shift and I've lost sight of the RX-8 out my right window. Hard into third, up to about 90 and the RX-8 quits. He was easily 3 cars back. I did get a nice flyby after I slowed down to about 55 (the speed limit).

The more I drive my car, the more I really like it. I'm no where near satisfied with my driving skills, but I'm getting better. It sure is fun to drive!!!

So the Pirelli's treat you well huh...I will try those when the LM-22's are done after their third seaso...for now I love the LM's. I miss my TL, especially the interior, but that 6MT is a blast to drive nice kill.

Nice kill Scrib.. I killed one in my S the other day, but my kill wasn't immediate as yours since you got a lot more nice low end torque.. but when I took him on top end, it was nice and dramatic also.

Damn I feel sorry for you guys who have wifes or gf's who bark at you for any kind of fun while driving. Mine actually like to start shit. When I'm not even looking at the other cars, she would turn and tell me that they want some, so I should get ready.

has no go from a dig. Try it from a role where the rx8 is around peak power (6k) and the results might be different. Probably not, but they might be... hahaha.

 

Nope... I've raced both the RX8 and the Z now, and Z owns the 8 both top and low end.

 

I can see it now: Stop hittng me WOMAN...do you want me to lose becuase you made me miss a shift!!

I am sure the RX-8 owner was one of the people who wanted to return it to Mazda after they mis-quoted the HP rating.
