Hey guys, my buddy just got a 05' G35 Coupe 6spd, he's got a short ram injen intake and thats about it. We had three runs, one uphill from 60-120 and i took a beating on that one he beat me by 3 cars. The next one was from a dead stop to 90 he had about 1.5 cars. The last one was downhill from 60-110 he had 2 cars. Now i'm definently looking for nitrous...

 

Any mods on your car?

 

k&n drop in w/o resonator, megan racing headers, thermoblock spacers,exhaust resonator removed...

 

6spd or auto? regardless you didn't do too bad at all

 

I'm an auto, just got a new tranny put in about a week ago...

 

damn, i knew a 6spd would be harder to beat, but i didn't think it would be that bad of a result. i had ~2 CLs on an auto G35c from 20-95 and i'm assuming he had an intake cos i could hear his engine roar over mine (windows were open).
those runs of yours must've been exhilirating nonetheless.

 

I dunno which year G35 you raced but the new ones are 300hp...

 

the one i ran must've been a 2003 which have 280 whether A or M/T.

 

My buddy with the g35 beats other g35coupes that have auto transmissions that are modded. I would easily beat a auto but the 6spds are harder...

 

Do you really beat G35s AT easily? I never had the chance to race one after i got my headers. I always thought they would beat me. You just put my hopes up lol

Yeah I bought the crappy one from ebay but it was underdrive and now my PS pump went out, so hopefully warranty takes care of that. Once they do i'm getting the UR stock diameter pulley and full exhaust... I'll show those g35's some acura lovin' next time...

I was always scared to race my girl and get embarassed (she has a stock g35 AT). Im gonna give it a try when i get the chance, wish me luck

 

298hp to be exact! not quite 3 yet, but if it has a intake, then its 300hp! The 03' has 284hp! Thats what it dyno stock! So your pretty much right! My girl thanks about getting one of those as are beat around car, cause she got a 1998 silvia 240sx Turbo!

 

never had a problem with a g35 coupe or sedan. My buddy just got a 03 6spd sedan and had no trouble beating him.

i'd turbo the G and drive the 240 daily! the G has much more pimp factor, you get lux and perf

 

What car do you drive?

 

I have ran him with my 01 CLS. Most every mod minus s/c. His car might be a 04 6spd sedan, just got it used with 20k miles on it.

 

Would be no damn reason to even turn her on for that run.

 

Every G35 who has had the bite to race, I've beaten. Drivers can make a great car drive like shit.

Dont think you are all that with a G35. Theres not much difference in performance between a G35 and a CL-S.
Oh and btw, G35's are played out and i see at least 10 of them everyday

 

Lets do it next week for sure. Also, the 6spd's are the ones I said are fast not the auto's because I've raced autos before and I beat them but for some reason the new 6spds have more umph...I believe its the power loss, plus the rev's are higher the limiter kicks in at 7100 now I think on the 05+.

 

i beg to differ. i love my CL-S too by i know i would be owned both engine performance and handling-wise. take both stock cars and see which one reaches their top speed first. A/t vs A/T and M/T vs. M/T. then i would like to see a CL kick a G35C's ass on the twisties.

 

I agree with you, the G35 will own a CL in handling. But performance-wise there aint much difference

I never brag about my car.As a matter of fact i was fairly beaten by power3dfx.Its,just that i dont like the way how he belittled g35 auto trans.Thats it.

 

I have respect for an acura.And i still own it(2003 TL-S with comptech headers/intake/full cat back system.H&R spring/koni shocks.Clear headlight by regosports in glendale.
Me and my wife race for fun.And when she got beaten even by an inch,She race me with her 2003 AMG C32 with stage 2 evosports(395whp/?400trq).I drive her car when i want to beat a ferrari modena.FYI

 

Actually if you go back and read what I wrote. My friend who I raced said he beat a g35 coupe auto with intake and exhaust by 3 cars. So I just took that race and compared it to my race and came up with my theory that I would keep up. I'm not disrespecting any cars here, i'm saying it'll be more of a even match for a a/t vs a/t compared to a manual. You can take it offensively if you want but I didnt mean it in that way, we are all on the same forum and I was trying to compare cars.

reynaldo will smoke you...people be realistic. A g35 and cl-s aren't that far in performance? Come on...Sure I see g35's about 100x more than CL-S, but they're still nicer.

 

Both were 260hp in 03, how can they not be close in performance???

 

I know Regosports in Glendale, my friend went there for rims. I wanted to clear my headlights for a while now. How much did they charge you?

 

Yeah,i lost to him.In all our races.It,was pretty close when he was not yet supercharged.First 2 races he had headers/pulleys/comptech air intake.And,i was bone stock.He beat me by @ least 1-1.5 cars.He's cool.

 

They cleared my headlights for $120 2 years ago.
