My CLS is NOT having a good month!

fawk. Febuary sucks for my CL...

the main thing... I came outside the other day... got in my car drove away... and noticed I had a flat tire!!! There is also a slight bend in the lip in the inside of the wheel.

This is my second flat in 6 months where the rim was bent as well!

Hopefully they can still mount a tire on this rim, and unfortunately the only place that has our shitty stock tires is the Acura dealer... one tire comes to a grand total of $220/mounted.

How can such shitty tires be so expensive??? :sqntfawk:

But then... to make me hate MY car even more this month... the bitter cold has turned my car into a completey unbearable rattle trpa.... whenever I hit a bump it sounds like the whole rear end of the car is about to fall off. And the dash board has about 13 seperate rattles.

and more particular to MY car... GROUND CONTROLS SUCK IN THE WINTER. :o

just venting :shakehd:

My car does that at first, but after it gets warmed up I really don't hear that many rattles. Don't worry warmer weather is only a month and half away

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that freak'n hates stiffer suspension in the COLD winter months. No one really likes to admit it, but it sucks. Makes a 30k luxury ride sound like a POS from the interior. Mines not as bad as your's, but still irks me just the same.

Today's ride into work was quite pleasing for once. Not one rattle, and 29 deg the whole way in! Too bad it won't do this every day, I'd love it.

Hopefully the H&R OE front springs will give a bit better ride. I'm doing them this Saturday. OE's up front, Comptech's in the back. No more rake for me. :P

End rant - Jim

I went in last week to my dealer and got all the rattles fixed. passenger side arm rest, rear passenger side arm rest, and rear windshield where that square thing sticks out.

mos def. hills.... potholes... and cobblestone + 9 degree temperatures do not add up to a comfy experience.

wouldn't it be nice to be buddies with a good mechanic? they can slap on stock springs during the winter - and lower you in the summer...

it just seems with the weight of our cars, riding lower, and having to deal with the shitty fucking roads & potholes out there - the stock rims just can't hold up.

since i bent 1 stock rim and had to deal with that nightmare, (getting rid of them) - i've been alot more careful with my new modas - even up on the NJ turnpike.

I gotta hand it to you NJ/NY people - your roads suck

Well, I live in the Pacific NW, and my car is beginning to rattle quite a bit as well. However, I cannot blame it on bad weather, as we have very mild winters. The worst of them is a rattle directly behind the NAV, too!

What is the story on rattles? Under warranty, can they fix those?

Sorry to hear about your probs, Soopa...and February just started, too!!

I have a very good solution for rattles. I virtually have NO rattles in my car that I can hear.

How did I do this?

BASS

Fuck it. Just turn up the BASS and everything is ok

rattle underneath the dashboard

how difficult is it to take the dashboard apart to fix the sources of rattles and creaks?
would it make things worse once the dashboard is taken apart?
I'd hate to mess up a brand new car that's less than a month old....
any recommendations/advices appreciated.
thanks.

of course I won't do it on my own taking apart the dashboard....
I just wanted to know how big of a job it is to take apart the dashboard or if it's better to leave the dashboard untouched and live with the rattles and creaks.
btw, you live in Bellevue?
I used to live in Seattle....nice to meet you.

Just to give some perspective, I used to complain, too, about noises in my CL. In fact, I still have a metallic "ting-ing" sound occasionally from the CD player when I first pull out.

But, I bought a 2001.5 VW Passat (V6-4WD) wagon last year and while the car handles great, the interior SUX! I've had it in 3 times for a creak in the steering wheel, my driver's seet creaks when I apply the brakes, the front doors' panels creak when you place outward pressure on them (like when you go around a corner), and the center arm rest creaks when you have it extended to use the "tiptronic".

Its 32K worth of cheap plastic on plastic.

Now...the CL is a dream!
