anybody with 215/40/18...

yeah, I'm thinking about gettin these ace alloy manta wheels in 18"x7.5" , 43mm offset, with the 215/40/18 tires. Just wanted to know about some characteristics and differences between those and the more common 225/40/18. I really don't like the tire to bubble out, I like the trim look. would it be better to get 235/35/18? can anybody help me decide?

I'm gettin them in satin silver, or gun-metal and they run for about 280, a piece. through a dealer they will be cheaper. I'm torn between those and the pic posted in my sig.

THE WHEELS AT THE TOP OF THIS THREAD!

GET THOSE DOUBLE 5- SPOKES ... They are hot!!!

I'd go with 235/40/18's - the 35's are too damn thin! - the ride is rough, and the wheels bend easily when you hit a pothole!

yeah, I'm gonna stick with 40series, but won't the tire look bigger at 235 than 225 or 215.

Hey Ron, I just saw those 2 weeks ago in sports compact car and tried to see the info on their home page but acealloywheels.com is all fucked up.

Both nice good choise but isn't 215 a little too narrow for 18inch tires?

I think he's worried about rubbing with the +43 offset.

I can't seem to get a clear shot of them anywere else. the pic is from the ad in Sport compact mag. they go for $400 chrome but you can haggle with the dealer. I'm gettin them with 215/40/18 from the guy I did catalogs for in the BX. I want chrome, but he said ace alloy chrome sucks so i'll just go with the bright satin silver finnish. choosing rims is hard, I want to get a good deal but I still want decent looking wheels that are low maintinace...
