My car is now Iceboxed

Install wasn't too difficult once i realized what went where. I decided against removing the front bumper, instead i opted to remove the front wheel guard. I gotta give thanks for peinglong for sending me some pics of the finished installed. I may do a DIY if i have some time.

Now i got some questions for u Icebox guys. Did u notice any differences. seems like the only difference is the gas pedal is a little more responsive. Noise level is about the same, which is a little dissapointing ( i was hoping for a little more agressive note at wot).

you should have opted for a AEM/injen CAI.. just because of the sound.

Now a mod like will net you less than 0.1-0.2s in 1/4 mile could you feel the difference of 0.1s? That is 10 WHP.

Good to know you got everything in bro. What did you do about that hose? Or did you just leave it off?

I'll be doing the icebox too in the near future. Hope to "feel" some nice gain. Congrats on the install.

don't get me wrong nashua, i'm more performance oriented and that's why I choose the comptech, however i had heard from other menbers on the board that at WOT the intake note was a little more agressive. I was dissapointed to see there was no difference, but i wouldn't trade noise over performance. If that was the case then i would buy one of those turbo tips that mimic the noise of a spooling turbo

pimping: i got mine for $180 used from Lou and titan19

CAI sounds mean at WOT but I agree bullaculla that the icebox is a little throatier upon WOT in the higher RPMs.

Once you add headers the IceBox does wake up in terms of sound. It's a nice low roar, not anything like the AEM one. This is deeper. I like it alot better then the AEM, & still is quiet, & doesn't hiss.

Icebox rules! :P

Performance over show and sound any day IMO.

I love beating guys with noisy exhausts and intakes. . . reminds me of what I used to refer to guys as all show and no go . . .

The HP difference is only like 3-4.
I’ll take the BANSHEE SCREAM of my Xephyr CAI thank you.
If I don’t want to make noise I’ll just make sure I keep in under 5K.

I just had my icebox installed on friday, I got lazy and had it installed. I haven't had a chance to really see how much of a difference it makes yet. There wasn't much change in noise levels...the car does seem more responsive and the engine doesn't seem to bog down as easily if I end up shifting at too low an RPM (not that this is usually a concern!!)... I just noticed that when I was caught in traffic. The engine seems to rev up a little easier than before. The car feels a little quicker than before but that could also be b/c the weather has been cooler.
