my car was broken into....

well, it happened... my car was broken into last night... but the werid thing is that there were no signs of break-in. no broken windows or scrapped locks. i don't even think they used a slim jim (do these even work on our cars) cause there wasn't any signs along the rubber sealing around the windows. I know i locked my doors that night. they busted my glovebox and got away with my digital camera and frs...but no cd's missing. i know my garage had a 330ci go missing a couple days ago...
my question is can thieves "capture" our transmitter code and use it to unlock our cars?

Don't our transmitter uses the "rolling code" thing where the same code is never used?

yup, i filled a report, but the cops are so busy, they really can't do anything... they said to take it into my icbc (my insurance) to examine it and deterime damages. i don't think that we have "rolling code" .. or do we...?

Theives are clever sometimes nowadays! I mean if you look at the movie "Gonbe in Sixty seconds", yes its a movie, but if it is used there, you know people are using them in real life! I always say, no matter what, if someone wants your car or whatever is in it... they will take it regardless of what you do to prevent it!

Sorry to hear about this unfortunate act, but thankfully it wasn't worse! Consider yourself lucky!

That's why I don't leave much of anything in my car anymore. If a thief broke into my car they'd be able to make off with a bottle of excedrine migraine and my owners manual.

Crump, if you have renters or homeowners insurance it'll probably cover your digital camera.

Does this parking garage have security cameras by any chance?

Master Key.

Repo guys have them from the dealer, it's a general slug that'll open most locks, but they cost like shit. If you're a thief, it'll pay for itslef over time, but if you're a victim, it sucks!
