YES....This is “Car Talk” related, keep reading.

So I’m screwing off at work on this beautiful Friday afternoon like everyone else, and my boss’s BOSS walks into my office.
Let’s just say this isn’t someone who is normally stopping by for a visit.
He’s not my direct supervisor, but actually the Director of Engineering and 2nd to the President of the Division.
He’s very professional and usually doesn’t stop by to “Shoot-the-Shit”.

So he comes up behind me and puts his hand on my shoulder.
Then with the most serious look on his face I EVER saw says:
“Shawn, I have to ask you.........What the HELL did you do ???”

I froze, my heart missed a few beats and a million things went through my mind from screwing up an order or pissing off a customer to spending too much time on the NET.
I’m trying to think what did I do wrong that I am about to get reamed out for.

So I’m like with a confused look on my face say.....
“What did I do with what Greg ???”





He replies......”TELL ME YOU DIDN’T PAINT YOUR FREAKING CAR ???”

Whew !!!!!
(Heart rate returns to normal, blood flow reaching toes now....All is well)

What followed was a 5-minute conversation about Acura, Stick Shift, Springs, VTEC, Chrome Rims and other car related BS.

Here it turns out that he walks around the lot every day at lunch time and was quite familiar with my RED CL and was just surprised that it had turned BLUE overnight.
What a freaking relief.

I got a few confused looks from surrounding coworkers after he left.
I guess I’m the resident “brown noser” right now.

Whew! Yeah in this day with this economy and "nothing is sacred" anymore, I can see how you would be shocked.

Are you sure he wasn't asking you "How do we afford to pay you to keep getting a new [better] car every 18 months?"
