Just want to share my story.

On Friday night, my 1-month old baby got egged by a bunch of morons at a park.

Here's what happened: It was late at night and my girl and I were hanging out after going to a party. A few minutes after 12 am, I heard a loud <thunk> on my car, followed by the sound of footsteps outside. I looked out my car and saw 5-6 people standing less than 100 feet away, looking in my direction. At first, I thought it was a water ballon but then I saw the egg yolk and shells dripping down the windshield.

Furious, I get out of the car and yelled some obsenities at the idiots and got back into the car. What happened afterwards was a blur... but I knew they threw a few more eggs and took off over a hill. Trying to keep my calm, I started my car and drove out of the parking lot. At first, all I wanted to do was clean up the mess. However, as I was leaving, I saw a low profile car with 5 teenagers squeezed in, driving erratically out of the park.

SUSPECTS AQUIRED.

I proceeded to chase them down and thanks to the power of my 6-speed, I caught up with them in a matter of seconds. (I was about a block away when I saw their car)

However, the story takes a twist (literally) when I caught up to write down the license plate, the guys lost control of the car while making a right turn and slammed into a post office box and into a concrete fence, narrowly missing a house. Crap. Luckily, it wasn't a high speed chase and the car was not totalled nor was anyone hurt. The driver stayed to file a report and the rest of the passengers took off.

I got what I wanted, which was the driver's name, plate number, address, and phone number. The rest of the night was spent cleaning up the gunk from the eggs and trying hard not to kick the driver's ass. He was scared sh*tless and was afraid I would press charges and take him to court. I told him I would get an estimate on the damage and give him the bill. If he didn't pay up, I would follow up with him in a more personal way. (Note: It helped that I payed attention in my Criminology and Law class back in college). :P

Anyways, after cleaning up, I found three small dents in the paint... the size of a quarter and the smallers ones the size of a dime. I'm sure the auto body people can fix it easily, but I just want to see if any of you have had dents or scratches removed, and at what price.

Crazy ordeal, but thank God no one was hurt and justice was served.

 

go to a dent pro, dont go to bodyshops, unless they outsource the dents to a dent pro...

 

I vote we institute capital punishment as the only way to deal with people who mess with another man's car. I hate those fucking assholes.

Why is that? Just curious since there is a auto shop nearby my Acura dealer. I plan on taking it in for my first oil change and having those dents taken care of at the same time.

 

How was your paint after the eggs? Some asshole in my neighborhood egged my car 2 years ago and it left a really ugly mark that i can't buff out with rubbing compound. I know who did it, but i can't prove it.

Bodyshops will charge alot more then a "dentbuster" kind of place

 

you're lucky it's only a dent...when i used to have my 97 gsr, it got egged on the front side fender, and the hood on halloween...the egg shells actually made several small chips in the paint. it was a black car, and you could see white, and how far it dug down. I went to a body shop to get an estimate and they quoted me somewhere between 400 for each spot.... they said it was pretty bad cause there were a lot of little chips. they said they would have to shave down to the sheet metal then start new for those spots.... never had it done, just touched it up a little, waxed it and struggled through it...i was pissed as f though...it was pretty bad though...

 

Hard to say man, who knows may be they would become the leaders of our country in the future?

The quarter-sized dent might be the same thing you got on your GSR. I see a lot of small chips and it's probably 1-2mm into the paint. I can feel the spot by brushing my finger over the dent.... but I don't know how serious this is and whether the dent pros can fix it up. I'll try to take some pictures of the damage and post them up. This whole ordeal is infuriating.

 

Sulfur in eggs will fuck up your paint almost immediatley... Not to mention what happens when assholes partially freeze them & then nail your car.

My black Max lost an egg battle while I was on vacation one year. No way to fix other than re-paint.

Young punk-bastards have no respect these days.

Hey where do you live... which park did it happen at? Cause Im from the South California area.

 

A bunch of kids egged my bros ML. had to get it repainted. it sat overnight and dulled the paint.

 

How pathetic is it that eggs can dent a car?

Glad everything worked out in the end. Get those few dents out and it will be as good as new.

 

my car got keyed by some bitch and I had to repaint the whole thing a month after owning it. After I got it back she fucking keyed it. I couldn't do anything though because I didn't have proof

Note: The after pictures were tweaked to show the fine details. Under sunlight, the dent is nearly invisible... it only shows up at certain angles and lighting. This dent is about the size of a quarter.

 

Man, My sister Blue 350z got egg and key on the drivers door a month ago and she took it to the dealer and paid $600 to get if repainted. Just last week she got egg again and scratches simalar to yours.

yep, that's what my GSR looked like with after the eggs... i hope you have better luck than i do, getting that fixed...those fuckers threw that shit pretty hard. let's hope they get cancer
