my 19s feel a lot faster than stock 17s

I feel like my 19s make my car soo much faster in acceleration and stopping definetly. I used to have really bad wrapped rotors, since i got my 19s the i havent wraped it yet. first off all my rims are alot lighter than stock, and speed feels a lot faster, some peeps here say 19s will slow the car, some 1 elightenment Y

It depends on the construction and weight of the 19" rims.

There are some 19" rims that will slow you way down.

Also, it depends on the tire's weight that went on those 19" rims.

19" > 18" > 17" == slowest > slower > fastest is a general rule with rims of identical construction...

The moment of inertia is what is important, and I could probably find some genius to make some carbon fiber/magnesium wheels in 20" that would kick the snot of some 15" wheels...

It depends...

So, what wheels (make and size) and tires (make and size) are you using. Do you know the weights of the wheels and tires?

And, if you don't do the comparison during the same weather (temp and pressure), it can be hard to tell what is going on.

Well, I should have directed the info to OUTRAGEOUS CL TYPE S, but your information is helpful.

The stocks 17" wheels weight around 26lbs and the stock tires weigh around 25-26lbs. You lost a little weight on the tire, but the weight on the rims went up and the flanges (furthermost outside portion of wheels generally weight the most and have the most impact on moment of inertia).

It's been a while, but moment of inertia is related to the radius squared and I did some "rough" calcs with a ton of assumptions and figured that a wheel would need to lose about 2-4lbs going from a 17- to 18-inches and the same could be said for going from 18- to 19-inches.

I called a dealer and they said the shipping weight was 30lbs EACH with the chrome...

19x8 +45 offset Axis Hagen chrome

Non-chrome around 26lbs each.

That's what I was told -- but, I didn't get a second source...
