LOL, the only car I know with a battery in the rightside of the trunk is the M3/M5. Thats taking it to the extremes.

hmm actually alot of european cars have their batteries as a safetly system in the trunk...I know my C-Class Mercedez had it in the trunk, other class mercedez should also have it in the back, as well as BMW's and Volvos...m5/m3 is not the only cars with it in the back, alot of euros are made that way...

my friends 540 has it in the back...I can only assume the other 3 and 5 series have it in the back.

I think the 7 series has it in the front though....

You are right. BMWs have them in the trunk.

With as nose hevy as the CL is, I doubt it will make a noticable difference unless you do a major front end lightening.

some bmw's have them in the trunk, i know for a fact that the 3 series 99-01 have them under the rear passenger seat, in the 4-door version at least, but i would assume the same for coupe... i dont know how much diff 30-40lbs would make... but it does help them get that much closer to the perfect 50/50 weight distro... and actually, since u take away 30 from the front and put 30 in the rear, it seems equivalent to putting 60lbs in the back... so actually it might be noticeable..

My old boss' 1978 911 Porche, was under the drivers seat or rear seat and was super small and VERY expensive ! I remember, cause she would bitch about the cost of it !

Go to summit and get a battery relocation kit...if you ever plan on taking it to the track..make sure it is the box that is NHRA-legal.

You are wrong, the E46 has it in the trunk. I think that all late-model BMWs do as well.

I put this together to help any CL owners that wanted to try it.

This particular car is a 2000 328Ci

This is a jump start terminal. You will need one in case the battery is dead.

Something to cover up the battery

The battery itself clamped in tight. It shouln't have any play

And, of course, cable running to the starter

Battery in Trunk

Yeah, even the Lincoln LS has the battery in the trunk to help with weight distribution.

Wouldn't it also be a good idea for security,
to have the battery in the trunk?
So thieves can't disable it?
