motor reving while in park?

motor reving while in park?

Today I started my car to warm it up while I checked the trire pressure cuz I havent drivin it in week and the motor started reving by itself from 750-1500rpm then I got in and revved itmelf self a coulpe of times and it stopped and it didnt do it agian. Any Ideas of why that happened?

The same thing has happened to me when I first start the car after not having driven it for a few days. I always just figured it was normal.

this happened to me once. i just pulled off the battery tabs, and took out the 7.5 amp fuse. then turn on the headlights to make sure there is no power left in the system. and it should straighten it's ass out.

as it did for me

IACV was probably stuck, or moisture in the vacuum lines most likely the culprit is the moisture though.

Do you have an aftermarket intake? If so, its most likely the IACV (Intake air control valve). Check and make sure your filter didn't fall off the end of the intake and suck some debris up.
